WASN'T THIS A SCENE IN DEVIL'S ADVOCATE?
Published 5/27/2008 at With Leather - Sports news and gossip to brighten this short, dark life
Red Sox Nation welcomed another into its fold when earlier this month Ryan Rogers was baptized in a font of blood from Schilling's sock at Fenway Park. How generous of the team to allow some private suite above the field to play host to that. A well-worn Sawx hat then materialized on the kid's head, he developed a speech that dropped all H's and he gained a predilection towards oversensitivity and casual racism. Eight vaginae also formed on various locations on his body, mostly on his face. He then pledged his life to the ever-shriller defense of the Red Sox, yelling ...
Red Sox Fans Have Officially Lost It

I can't believe that the local Boston news spent 10 seconds on this (nevermind two full minutes), but via With Leather comes the story of a couple of Red Sox fans getting their kid baptized at Fenway.... Just weird. I can't believe someone hasn't though of this sooner though. The best part was that the couple drove up from Florida. Are you kidding me?! Also, if this kid becomes a Boston area announcer sometime in the next 30 years....he's never going to hear the end of this. Remember the name Ryan Rodgers. Wasn't This A Scene In Devil's ...
Red Sox Fans Have Their Son Baptized at Fenway Park

Filed under: Boston, Red Sox, AL East, MLB Fans, MLB Media Watch, MLB VideoRyan Rogers became "a child of God" when he had holy water dumped in his head in a suite above Fenway Park. It raises all sorts of religious, ethical and psychological questions, most to be answered on another day, by another blogger, or perhaps all of us when the apocalypse happens in, oh, roughly 48 hours. On the bright side though, Ryan only has about three and a half years of cheering to catch up to most of Red Sox Nation. By "floodgates", the television ...
Sign of the Apocalypse #2: Fenway Baptism

I’ve already covered, fairly politely, how I feel about this baptizing at Fenway, so I’m probably just going to roll the video and let you make your own decisions. But this is pretty g-d ridiculous. Don’t we already invoke religion enough when it comes to baseball and athletics, without directly linking the attachment of one’s Christian soul –> God with your favorite baseball team? Apparently not.

A Red Sox baptism? I dunno about this

Following a long day at work, I'm about 12 hours behind the curve on this story, but it's still screaming for attention: A baby was recently baptized at Fenway Park. And while the takes out there range from the incredulous ( Awful Announcing ...
