USC quarterback Matt Barkley had his worst night as a Trojan at Arizona State and may have been facing a controversy this week if Damien Williams hadn't turned a short, routine pass in the third quarter into a 73-yard touchdown that accounted for two-thirds of Barkley's passing yards and provided the decisive margin in a 14-9 win. But for all his struggles, at least Barkley didn't put the ball at risk -- by the fourth quarter, it took the most outlandish efforts of some puckish desert sprite for ASU to finally record its first turnover:

A few weeks ago, I posted the top twelve plays during the last decade for Arizona State football.
There’s a new play to add to the list. During Saturday’s 14-9 loss to USC, safety Clint Floyd came up with an interception on a play that I’m fairly certain you’ll never see again as long as you watch football.
Floyd picked of a Matt Barkley pass that had been touched no fewer than 7 times before it reached him, including once by the foot of Terrell Carr. During the run back, Floyd fumbled the ball and Carr recovered it at the USC 26-yard line, but then inexplicably ran backwards ten yards to the 36, ...
