Kevin Garnett Attempts to Bend it Like David Beckham
FanHouse —
by Nate Jones Filed under: Celtics, NBA VideosBefore an adidas commercial shoot this summer, Kevin Garnett and David Beckham battled it out in a game that combined elements of soccer and basketball. The object of the game, you ask? To kick a soccer ball into a regulation basketball hoop. Take a look at the results below: (Via: Slam Online) Kevin Garnett Attempts to Bend it Like David Beckham originally appeared on NBA FanHouse on Wed, 25 Feb 2009 22:10:00 EST . KG kicking a soccer ball into a basketball hoop
Juiced Sports Blog*: Writing Enhanced by Flaxseed Oil —
Adidas sent us this, and we watched it. If “Anything is Possible” as KG loves to say, well can he kick a soccer ball into a basketball hoop with the most over-publicized player on Earth (David Beckham) watching? Watch it. We dare ya! You might learn a thing or two, or you may ask for two minutes of your life back. But we don’t do refunds. So take the plunge. You just might enjoy this… maybe.

Football video: Slam dunk it like Beckham (and Kevin Garnett)
Off The Post —
Posted By Rob Parker on February 26, 2009 Adidas show ponies shoot hoops Filming on this new Adidas commercial presumably took place before David Beckham’s Green Card was revoked, but here he is just chillin’ with a tall gentleman called Kevin Garnett, who plays basketball for the Boston Celtics. The duo play a bit of basketball before settling down to the task of kicking a football through the basket, which - in the edited version at least - everybody’s favourite transfer saga accomplishes at the first time of asking. Before the Adidas Originals House Party kicked off, David and KG challenged each other to a little one-on-one competition in the backyard. Funny ending.
David Beckham shoots hoops with KG
Epic Carnival | Where Sports and Pop Culture Collide —
Remember that video awhile back of David Beckham playing football (American football) with Reggie Bush and looking, well, frail? Well, not one to fear looking stupid a second time, Becks got together with Kevin Garnett to shoot a little hoops. Amazingly, Beckham actually did much better in this fish-out-of-water go 'round. Check it out... H/T: The Spoiler ...
Kevin Garnett Explodes the “If Only All American Athletes Played Soccer” Myth
The Offside —
Kevin Garnett Explodes the “If Only All American Athletes Played Soccer” Myth By: Daryl | February 26th, 2009 Above is a new three stripes commercial, featuring Galaxy / Milan (delete as applicable) midfield man David Beckham and Boston/Celtics (what? oh, that’s one team) power forward Kevin Garnett. Here’s what I deduce from this video: Kevin Garnett isn’t great at soccer. He looks… clumsy. That’s no knock on Garnett, as he’s probably got a better first touch than myself. But watching a 6′11″ man with shoes of whoknowswhat size kick a football is - for me at least - the final nail in the “if only [insert five NBA star's names here] played ...
Speed Read: Brady, Gisele Get Hitched In Hiding
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
So much for US WEEKLY and the glamo-celebrity gossip mags finding ways into weddings where people don’t want them there. According to the website for the aforementioned weekly dose of celebritant glitz, USMAGAZINE.com, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen — arguably the most beautiful woman in the world — were married yesterday in Santa Monica. And none of the celebrity mags were there to cover it, despite the wedding being held right under their noses.
The ceremony was called a small, private affair in Santa Monica’s St. Monica Catholic Church, where only ...

The Cavaliers lose Ben Wallace to a broken right tibia. The Plain Dealer's Brian Windhost assesses the damage: "The Cavs have been keeping their eye on what happens with Joe Smith and the Oklahoma City Thunder. These events, though, might make Smith more valuable and ratchet up the pressure. The Cavs have $5.1 million left on their midlevel exception and could make a hefty offer to Smith if he were to get out of his Thunder deal, which ends this season. 'We're going to be impacted a lot,' [LeBron] James said. 'Defensively, [Wallace is] one of the best on-ball defenders in the post, and his intimidation factor out there. We can't escape it, I know ...

My friend Heather sent this video to me yesterday, but I’m going to credit Hot Clicks (which she definitely doesn’t read) because I know some people don’t take kindly to just posting a YouTube video. I mean, someone saw it somewhere before it showed up here. With that in mind, I’m today coining the phrase “YouTube diligence.”

Steve Nash’s footy basketball
Dirty Tackle —
We all know NBA star Steve Nash has some footballing skills, but in this video shot by Phoenix Suns teammate Jared Dudley, we see he also has the ability to meld his talents in the two sports into one trick shot reminiscent of the one Davey Becks made in that Adidas video (though he did it with a football).
This was apparently just Nash’s second try at sinking it. Not bad at all, but he’s got to get a little more creative with his goal celebrations.
