jetsrule91 Adrian Peterson reminds me so much of Barry Sanders its not even funny, i mean its scary how good he is, he could go on to be one of the single greatest backs to ever play. As long as he's careful jumping around, if he gets caught in the air or lands funny hes gonna be sorry. -
RyNoSauce Yeah he is proving that he should be (and now is) a starting back in the NFL. What talent. Glad I picked him up early for my fantasy team ;-) -
44football Adrian Peterson is the best back in history. Better than Barry Sanders, just without that kind of cutback ability. But a workhouse like Emmit Smith. He's proving that he is easly the whole package. He can break tackles, and just plain out run people. It pisses me off he hurt his knee, this could not be good.
Week Nine Thoughts? Adrian Peterson and The New England Patriots
FakeTeams —
Minnesota Vikings' rookie RB Adrian Peterson ripped the San Diego Charger defense for 296 yards and three TDs. The was the single-game rushing record! His totals through eight games are 1,036 yards with 8 rushing TDs and one receiving. ...
Video: Adrian Peterson Sets the NFL Single Game Rushing Record Running Over the Chargers for 296 Yards
FanIQ Blog —
Finally there's some video up they we can marvel at all evening. I plan to. They aren't enough superlatives in the book to describe Adrian Peterson's afternoon and rookie season thus far. I'm not sure what's was more stunning this afternoon, that AD had 296 yards rushing or that he had 256 more than LaDainian Tomlinson.
There's not one run above that doesn't make your jaw drop. 8 games into his NFL career he hold the all time NFL single game rushing record. Then consider Peterson is on pace (1,036) to destroy Eric Dickerson's rookie season record for yards (1,808) and could give ...

Adrian Peterson breaks the single-game rushing record...ridiculous numbers and the fact that he is only a rookie makes it even more astonishing. More on this tomorrow when I debut the new "Monday Morning Quarterback" post...

… Men talking inside Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese
Man with goofy hat and chaps: I do say fine sir, have you seen this American National Football League running back from the fur trading regions of the Minnesota Territory?
Man with beard and goofy clothes: Why yes, I read about him in this morning’s London Oxford Gazette.
Man with goofy hat and chaps: He moves with the swiftness of a gazelle and the passion of a Shakespearian sonnet!
Man with beard and goofy clothes: It is as ...
Overheard Watching Vikings-Chargers
City Pages - Balls! Sports Blog —
Previous Post | Main Overheard Watching Vikings-Chargers Let's be honest: we all had low expectations. Every single one of the Yahoo prognosticators predicted a Chargers win , and so did a healthy 91 percent of users. ESPN specifically warned fantasy players not to use the Vikings defense. This one wasn't supposed to be a bright spot, and many thought it could get ugly. I sidled up into the uptown Leaning Tower of Pizza to enjoy the Bloody Mary special and, hopefully, the game as well. My plan was simple: 1. Watch Adrian Peterson run; 2. Hope to avoid a Brooks Bollinger sighting; and 3. Maintain those low expectations, so as to ...
ADRIAN PETERSON IS STILL PURPLE JESUS
With Leather - Sports news and gossip, panda sex, and the occasional Toonces the driving cat Photoshop —
Here's the highlight package of Adrian Peterson's 296-yard, record-setting performance yesterday. This is more the "gape in amazement" sort of video rather than my preferred "laugh at others' misfortune" clip -- partly because the video needs more Norv Turner reaction shots, but mostly because what Purple Jesus does on the field isn't being replicated anywhere else in the NFL. I've watched this video three times now, and I can't get over how he makes people miss in tight spaces and how often DB's take the wrong angle because they misjudge his speed. I kinda ...
Visual Crack: Imagine How Good He'll Be After The Resurrection
One More Dying Quail —
The most amazing fantasy football outburst I have ever seen took place on Sunday, when one of my brother's friends started Drew Brees (35-49, 445 yards, 3 TDs), Clinton Portis (36 carries, 196 yards, TD) and Adrian Peterson (30 carries, NFL-record 296 yards, 3 TDs). You know you've had a good day when your team posts the second highest one-week point total in league history...without even bothering to starta kicker. ...
Relive Adrian Peterson’s Record Setting Day
The NFL Guru —
Adrian Peterson sets the NFL single game rushing record with 296 yards.
This kid is just a rookie and he is already the best running back in the NFL. If he can stay healthy, he’ll be discussed with the greatest of all time.
How One Player Can Change Your Opinion of a Team.
Beers with Boggs —
First off, I’ve been a die-hard Cowboys fan since I was 7 after they defeated Bill Cowher and the Steelers in the ‘95 Superbowl. However, aside from Dallas, I do cheer for a few other teams because I like a player or coach on the squad: the Broncos and DJ Williams, the Dolphins and the legendary Big Tuna, the Colts and Manning, the Saints and Bush/Vilma/Brees, or the Vikings and Adrian Peterson to name a few. Whenever the ‘Boys have a bye or aren’t playing at the time I try to watch one of these other teams as much as possible. However unlike the Cowboys, who no matter what they do I will follow religiously, my appreciation ...
Your All-Decade High School Football Team
The Big Lead —
But first, Lane Kiffin’s shirtless Vols pose - that appears to be Eric Berry, DMX-style, with the chains around his neck - with a lambo. This will be the most breathlessly-reported-on sub .500 team in college football history.
The all-decade team is highlighted mostly by college and pro stars: Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Tim Tebow, and Adrian Peterson plus young, up-and-coming cats like Julio Jones (Alabama), AJ Green (Georgia), and Terrelle Pryor (Ohio State).
The coolest stat on that page: Ted Ginn picked off eight passes as a senior and ran back ...
