I don't know what's been going on of late at the Indy 500 practices, but at the rate things are going, no one's going to have a car left to race next weekend.
AJ Foyt IV's car went up in a ball of flames during a weekend practice run when a crew member failed to tighten the fuel cap on the car. Whoops.
The fire left Foyt with a small burn on the back of his neck and singed hair. Someone's also going to be paying for the mistake according to Foyt:

The Indy 500 is next weekend, assuming that there are any cars left to actually race since every time I turned around the last two weekends they were picking pieces of the cars out of the wall. Yesterday was no exception as A.J. Foyt IV bumped his way into the field only to see his gas cap come off, resulting in a fiery crash. And yes you did read that right, his gas cap came off. AJ Foyt’s IV crashed hard into a wall Sunday during Indianapolis 500 practice. He only suffered minor burns in the back on his neck which is pretty crazy because when I saw the crash my first reaction is ‘wow, how can someone come out of that alive.’. Nascar holds their drivers down.

There were a bunch of crashes during Indy 500 practice over the weekend, increasing exponentially the chances that I would write about Indy 500 practice. Too bad Danica Patrick couldn't find the time to run over anyone else. The worst of the five over the weekend featured A.J. Foyt IV's car bursting into a massive fireball as a result of a crew member not tightening the fuel cap. Who knew fuel was flammable anyway?
