Horford's Rookie Spot
Published 4/7/2008 at Hawks BasketBlog
Big week ahead for the Hawks, with a chance to virtually clinch a playoff berth
tomorrow night in Indiana. The Al Horford for ROY campaign continues to gather
steam, as he added another double-double (his 23rd) to his rookie-leading total
in Saturday's win over Philly. And if you haven't had a chance to see the latest
spot for his candidacy, you should check it out: ...

Big night tonight for Atlanta Hawks fans all around the world — OK, for me, Myung and Coco. The Hawks and Pacers square off tonight at 7:00 with the 8th spot in the East on the line. Well, it’s not really on the line, but the Pacers are on their last gasp, and the Hawks can make the magic number 1 with four games left. I’m wearing my Hawks hoodie today in celebration…you know, the one I had to buy last weekend in Atlanta at Philips Arena because you can’t buy Hawks gear anywhere else.
Also, before we get to today’s topic, one link I enjoyed ...
Horford Makes His R.O.Y. Case
Published 4/10/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
Filed under: Hawks, SuperSonics, NBA Awards, NBA Videos, AtlantaForget LeBron, Kobe and C.P. III -- YouTube is the NBA MVP this year. Al Horford's the latest to use web video to lobby for something or other (in this case, the Rookie of the Year award). Subtle, and brilliant! (I swear though, if Luis Scola does one of these, it's just going to be bad for everyone.) The original Kevin Durant commercial after the ...
Al Horford Makes His Case for ROY

They should also mention the number 8, as in the Hawks playoff seed. After years of futility in the ATL, mostly struggling to find a presence in the post, Horford has been an immediate impact player down low. Durant is coming on strong lately, and he’s probably got more upside and certainly more scoring ability than Horford, but he’s also a swingman — those are a dime a dozen in this league, and Seattle has made a point over the years of proving you can’t win without a big man. Finding a true big who can play both ways is far more difficult and tends to have a far greater effect on teams. Nobody has ...

Sigh. Durant Wins ROY
Published 5/2/2008 at Hawks BasketBlog
Well, the inevitable news finally came out today, as
Kevin Durant was named
NBA Rookie of the Year. The voting wasn't particularly close, with
Durant gathering 545 points to Al Horford's 390, and 90 1st place votes to Al's
30.
I still maintain Horford should have won, but I suppose there are larger
injustices in the world. Besides, if you ask Al whether he'd rather have the
trophy or be participating in the most thrilling series of the NBA Playoffs, I'm
pretty sure I know what his answer would be.
But, one last time, let's reflect on Al's rookie season and the fun we had
trying ...
A Collection Of Minnesota Vikings Jerseys

This video is like watching the Kevin Durant Nike commercial (or Al Horford’s spinoff) at high speed after a night of heavy drinking. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few people went into a ...
