Davis To Kiffin : Good Luck Suing The Undead
Can't Stop The Bleeding — Please, no Bobby Steele jokes. But never mind the plight of an Oakland franchise so dysfunctional, St. Louis seems Patriot-esque by comparison. No, the scariest thing about the above press conference is that when I flipped on the TV, I thought I was watching a Learning Channel special on what Mike Dunleavy will look like in a hundred years.

AL DAVIS TELLS IT STRAIGHT ABOUT KIFFIN
FantasyHumor — There’s nobody like this guy. A real character.

Running Down Weird Al
Pleats 'n Cleats — Jumping right in: 1. I'm calling this "He's not who I thought he was." (Thank you, Denny Green). The Al Davis (aka Oakland) Raiders will have a new coach, per Mr. Davis himself: You have to watch the rest of the press conference because this guy is a trip. Among other claims, Davis says that now-former coach Lane Kiffin was trying to lose and was looking for other jobs. (Can he blame him?) And he's not trying to pay Kiffin the remainder of his salary (hence the "for cause" pronouncement from Davis, for all you non-legal types). Kiffin was none too pleased by what amounted to a ...

Al Davis is as old as dirt, but he had jokes. This is definitely an "Under The Bus" moment. Al Davis threw Kiffin under the first Greyhound bus he saw.

The Sporting Blog — It's not that we have any issue with the Raiders being a complete circus, firing and hiring coaches on a whim -- it's that we can't afford to see an Al Davis press conference ever again. We starred into the eyes of the crypt keeper and saw the rest of our lives flash before us, followed by a long tunnel with a light at the end where our passed loved ones were summoning us to join them in the afterlife. The power of Davis ... of Death himself ... was compelling us. ...

Daily "Linkin' Logs" MLB Playoffs?! Edition (10/1/08)
The Bad News Bloggers — And the White Sox do it...needing two wins in two days, they pulled it off (probably as the better team) and became the AL Central Champions. They play the Rays tomorrow. Today features a fun slate of games starting with the Phillies and Brewers at 3pm. We'll let thefightins' "How do you spell retard" break it down. Thefightins also let us know that ESPN thinks the Phillies will win. Seriously, the who's who of ESPN is picking the Phillies...poor Brewers fans. We'll let Coreyisarealboy of AGM give us his Brewers take. More MLB info in the links. In oddly more entertaining news, Al Davis finally fired Lane ...
