In case you weren’t aware, it’s NHL All-Star Weekend and the league has instituted a breakaway contest to spruce things up. It was judged by Dominique Wilkins, Riggins from Friday Night Lights and two other guys, and honors were taken by Washington’s own Alexander Ovechkin, whose finest moments resulted in no goals but endless admiration and probably imitation. Check out the first at the 2:35 mark and the second at 4:35:

Alexander Ovechkin in Super Slo-Mo
onfrozenblog.com 1/27/2008 — We won’t be able to “skate alongside” Ovechkin in this years All-Star game like we did last year with the Rail Cam, but we will be able to watch him move very slowly. According to an article on the Sports Video Group website, the Versus network will be using a Fletcher Super Slo Mo camera.
