I'm gonna guess that since Brandon Wallace is dressed and not in sweats, it was a preseason game that TA was inactive for.

Kevin Garnett, Player-Coach
Published 11/5/2007 by Bethlehem Shoals at FanHouse
Filed under: Celtics, Eastern, NBA Videos, Boston, The Word I know that vets, especially smart ones, are expected to speak up in huddles. It shows they care, allows them to lead, and gets the younger players seeing the importance of X's and O's. But this footage from the Celtics huddle takes things a step further. Based on this, it's pretty clear that Kevin Garnett runs this team, and understands at least as well as Doc Rivers what coaching needs to get done. It also should go without saying that KG's far better suited to taking charge and ...

Kevin Garnett 2-0 As Head Coach of the Boston Celtics
Published 11/5/2007 at FanIQ Blog
Game 1 of the season and this is the intensity and competitiveness you get from Kevin Garnett. When we have footage of KG coaching up his teammates in the Eastern Finals, my guess is you won't be able to tell the difference. While many teams will be comfortable surpassing the 50 win total and receiving a playoff berth, this video displays the reason I think the Celtics (I've found that if I leave out the word Boston, they're much more likable) will get the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. It's only been 2 games, but what are your thoughts and predictions for the Big Three ...

Doc Rivers: Player's Coach
Published 11/5/2007 by Sullivan at I *Heart* Celtics
The Celtics are an undefeated 2-0 when Doc Rivers doesn't coach this year. But he's only missed one game you say? Check out the following video clip of a Celtics' timeout, and you will know what I mean by "doesn't coach": ...

Where you at?
Published 11/6/2007 by Jim at Green Bandwagon: Front Page Posts
By now you have probably seen the video clip of Kevin Garnett dominating the huddle during a timeout on ESPN, Celtics Blog or the Fan House. However, I HAVE to post it. Teams can no longer hire a player/coach as it would be a way to circumvent the salary cap. This is similar to the fact that the Raptors can't give cash prizes to their leaders in second assists. Alas. Throughout his career Tony Allen has suffered a few injuries, been involved in a shooting incident and been accused of drifting at times. Currently he is cleared to play and not facing any legal challenges. So it is phenomenal ...

The Wiz Are Playing Defense!
Published 11/6/2007 by Dan Steinberg at D.C. Sports Bog
The Wiz Are Playing Defense! Last night I heard the Sports Reporters complaining that this Wiz team will simply never play defense. Not true! Compare the first three games this year (0-3) with the first three games last year (1-2), and you'll see that the defensive trends are encouraging! And those exclamation marks are only partly ironic in this case! Last year opponents were scoring 106.7 ppg, this year it's down to 105.3 ppg. Last year opponents were shooting 50.2 percent from the field, this year it's down to 44.0 percent. Last year the Wiz were being outrebounded by an average of 54-43; this year they're actually out-rebounding teams 50-49 per ...

Garnett Pulling Double Duty
Published 11/6/2007 by Scott (CEO) at BostonsportZ
Boy does this video make me sooooo happy, It sows inside the Celtics huddle where KG is clearly coaching this team and Doc is just noise in the background who can't get a word in. Finally we have a head coach!

Is Doc Garnett a Future NBA Head Coach?

Some Random Thoughts after 2 Games

With two games and two wins in the books, I have a few thoughts on the games, the players and the Celtics in general. Can We Handle Another Undefeated Boston Team? [Nba Closer]
Published 11/8/2007 by Rick at Deadspin
• Green Day. If there was ever any doubt that Kevin Garnett is the new sheriff in town, this video should help to clear that up. The clip is from the Celtics' win over the Wizards, I think, but kind of illustrates who is really in charge. And that's OK -- I wish the NBA would go back to the concept of player-coaches. On Wednesday, Paul Pierce scored 26 points and Garnett had 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Celtics beat the Nuggets 119-93. How have things turned around in Boston? The Celtics had 77 points in the first half on Wednesday; and as Green Bandwagon pointed out, they had five games last season in which they ...

Footage of KG Coaching the Celtics
Published 11/8/2007 by HM at Hoops and Other Pop Culture
Footage from iheartceltics.blogspot.com To be fair, Doc Rivers does randomly count out 5 guys and say, "Keep moving the ball, keep moving the ball." This footage perhaps explains Dwane Casey's 20-20 mark last year with the Wolves. If you do NOTHING and simply allow KG to run the huddle, even an incompetent coach might survive. Once Randy Wittman came in with the "get tough" attitude and actually tried to DO something, the Wolves dropped 30 of their last 42....

What’s Up With Tony Allen?
Published 11/10/2007 by redsarmy at RedsArmy.com: The Voice Of Celtics Fans
The fact that Tony Allen is even on the floor right now is a testament to how hard he’s worked to get back.  He should be commended for that.  However, I’m starting to see a little bit of a disturbing pattern with Mr. Salmon and Mashed Potatoes. It starts with the Celtics refusing to pick up his option.  It seems ...

Tonight's Game: Orlando Magic vs. Boston Celtics - Open Thread
Published 11/18/2007 by Ben Q Rock <3qcmagicblogger@gmail.com> at Third Quarter Collapse: Front Page Posts
I'm doing something different with the preview today. Rather than post a lineup chart and a bunch of bullet points, I'm posting a little Q-and-A I did with Jim of Green Bandwagon, SB Nation's Celtics site. My responses to his questions can be found here. His responses to my questions are directly below this paragraph. Tipoff is at 6 PM on Sun Sports. Excluding the members of the Triumvirate, which Celtic has been the most important to the team's success this year? That's a tough question. In every game Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce or some combination of the three has carried the ...

Random Thoughts 2/17

It is amazing to me as I watch Dirk Nowitski in the 3 point shootout. A 7 footer that can shoot 3's like that. It seems like more and more bigs are moving out away from the basket and the old fashioned bang under the basket bigs of the olden days are going by the wayside. I guess that is why I like Perk ...

Reader Fly Gerald Fly scored some ridiculous tickets to the Celtics/76ers game on Monday March 24th. He sat on the court, 4 seats to the left of Boston's bench. I sat directly behind him in the second row. Let's just say the seats were expensive and leave it at that. ...
