shotcaller308 +1I'd like to say that Anderson Silva has proven that he is unequivocally the best pound per pound fighter in the world. I admit that I was slightly worried at the onset of this fight. But now I can breathe again, because he has answered the question in undeniable fashion. All of those who doubted him must now admit the reality. I guess the next question is whether he will move up in weight. I hope that he doesn't because being the best all time185 lb champion with both the Pride belt and UFC belt is legendary. He doesn't need to extend himself like that. What needs to be done is for him to move down. LOLOL Imagine that!

The Scalabrine Watch Postseason Version
Published 6/18/2008 by Simon (noreply@blogger.com) at SimonOnSports
I think that image pretty much sums up Scalabrine's contribution to the NBA playoffs. Stepping off the bench and onto the court a whopping zero times and only wearing a uniform when Kendrick Perkins was deactivated for the game. Yep, Scals made 3 mill this year gets an NBA title ring, and didn't have to do anything in the postseason to garner either. And he even got the opportunity to have a press conference. Yep, that guy makes 3 million dollars. It makes you feel pretty shitty about yourself doesn't it. Video Courtesy of the Fanhouse

Here's a video from August of Bob Ryan & Charlie Pierce flipping out saying all sorts of really interesting, but VERY WRONG things about the upcoming Celtics Season. If you want to laugh even more, read this from "basketball Bob" So tell me what's so enticing about this roster. If Danny had kept Ryan Gomes, I'd be far more optimistic. And why did Danny have to relinquish two No. 1 draft picks? Am I the only one who thinks this stuff matters? There is nothing to suggest the Celtics won't once again be a horrible defensive team. ...

OK, OK. We've seen Jonathan Papelbon in womanly shirts , beer box helmets and mohawks , among other bright ideas. As best as I can recall, though, I don't ever recall him wearing a wig. Especially a Milli Vanilli wig. Especially while lip-synching "Blame It On the Rain" with the help of Manny Delcarmen and Wally the Green Monster. Good lord! From Sox & Dawgs : How does one go about getting a video like this approved with Red Sox management, I wonder? Is there a karaoke contest involved? Bribery? Richard Simmons and Jane Fonda don't have a thing on Jason Varitek. He's invented a new kind of workout regimen - half football linebacker blocking, half weird yoga posing - that's guaranteed to really make you feel the burn... in just 5 simple steps!
Step 1: Snag a throw in from the outfield.
Step 2: Block home plate, while a baserunner barrels full steam ahead right at you.
Step 3: Collision!
Step 4: Go ass-over-teakettle.
Step 5: Hold on to the ball. Get the out.

Watching Spain v. Italy at the Local Pizzeria

With that in mind, I wandered down to Italian Pizzeria III in Chapel Hill, NC, yesterday to take in the EURO 2008 quarterfinal between Italy and Spain. Alas, the ending was not to their liking. Plenty of Spain fans came to watch the game as well. ...

Shaq Uses Freestyle Rap to Rip Kobe for Losing in the Finals
Published 6/23/2008 by Brett Edwards at FanHouse
Filed under: Lakers, Suns, NBA Gossip, NBA VideosSo, we all thought that the ol' Kobe-Shaq feud was over, and all fences had been mended, right? Well, during a freestyle rap session at a New York club (via TMZ), Shaq ripped right through those fences, repeatedly taunting Kobe for not being able to win a championship without him, and even (at about the 1:15 mark) going so far as to blame Kobe for his recent divorce. That's a pretty funny clip, and Shaq getting the crowd to chant "Kobe, tell me how my ass tastes" was priceless. But is ...
Shaq’s freestyle: “Kobe tell me how my ass tastes”
Published 6/23/2008 by houroc at Hail Mary Jane » Hail Mary Jane
Here we go!!! And you thought that the disputes between Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’neal were over. You thought that they were mature adults… What were you thinking???
Anyway, the dispute just got a whole lot funnier with this new video uncovered by those cats over at TMZ.
The video features the Big Diesel taking a mic at a New York club and spittin a freestyle aimed directly at Kobe. In it he blames Kobe for ruining his marriage by ratting him out and he gets on Kobe about losing the Championship stating numerous times that Kobe couldn’t win it without himself.
The funniest and probably most memorable ...

This video contains foul language. As a Lakers fan, I can't wait until LA plays Phoenix next year. I'm

Shaq Disses Kobe
Published 6/24/2008 by Jeff V (noreply@blogger.com) at JV Sports
Big Ups (and respect of course) to Bazooka Jones for giving me the heads up on this video Pros: I have to say, as crazy as Shaq is his freestyle wasn't half bad. One can only hope that Kobe responds by jumping over a Mac truck or something. Cons: Shaq is on thin ice saying that he is better than Kareem. Shaq basically just challenged the best player in the world to never win one more championship...only time will tell if that is a boo-boo on the Diesel's part.

The real reason that Milli Vanilli skit was so scary
Published 6/24/2008 by Dan Lamothe, Red Sox Monster at Red Sox Monster - MassLive.com
If you checked in here over the weekend, you may remember that not only did Paul Pierce overthrow Jason Varitek with an opening pitch during Friday night's game, Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen appeared in a Milli Vanilli-inspired music video on the Fenway Park Jumbotron. I'll be honest. The more I've seen the video, the more it terrifies me. I couldn't put my finger on it until last night, but here's why. First, Papelbon in the video: Now, the man who will undoubtedly be sitting on a stool singing to me should I find myself in hell: God god, the resemblance is uncanny. To help put this whole thing in perspective, we turn it over to the fetching ...
Blame It On Papelbon
Published 6/24/2008 by Texas Gal at Center Field
A pitchers' duel is way more fun when your pitcher is the one who emerges victorious. Josh Beckett sledgehammered his way through 8 innings, striking out 8 batters -- and only running into trouble in the 7th with a pair of walks, a pair of hits and a pair of earned runs. Unfortunately, Arizona's Dan Haren was just as filthy, blanking the Sox for 7 innings completely... and the Sox weren't able to muster enough runs against the Zona pen.
At least fans at Fenway once again were treated to (distracted by?) the dulcet tones of Milli Vanilli, and the lip synching stylings ...
