The Playoffs: How To Keep Your Cool
Published 4/3/2008 by Joe <milehighhockey@yahoo.com> at Mile High Hockey
I constantly marvel at how Bill (IwoCPO) and his disciples at Abel To Yzerman can be so pompous and full of themselves throughout every regular season, but come playoff time they collapse into wavering puddles of stress and nervousness as they anxiously await the impending and unavoidable collapse of the Red Wings in the post-season. First round or third, it doesn't matter. They know that the Wings will hit the wall and they agonize over every little sign that something has started to go wrong. His latest post (and the comments) is just one example of this peculiar phenomenon. Here at Mile High Hockey, we Avalanche fans have ...

The most clutch player of his generation, Joe Sakic delivered the OT blow in Game 1. An unlikely OT hero in the Wild's Keith Carney evened the series in Game 2. The series shifts to the mile high city for the always pivitol Game 3. Follow along and have your say.

10:15 pm ET: Colorado seems to have the early jump. They've manufactured the best chances early in this game.
10:25 pm ET: A lot of people say the Minnesota Wild are a boring hockey team. But their games are just as exciting as the next team. Marian Gaborik is one of the most electrifying players in ...

YouTube love: Andrew Brunette, Game 7 winner

Andrew Brunette is back with the Wild , which makes it almost bearable that he ever left. But let’s forgive G.M. mistakes and forget those missing years. Let’s go back to 2003, shall we? Video summary of the Wild's day

The Minnesota Wild got off to a fairly quick start to the free agent signing period, faster than the other Minnesota team that I'm particularly fond of when it comes to adding players, in any case. In any event, here's what they did, along with a bit of a video for each player. First, the Wild added depth at the blueline, acquiring Marek Zidlicky from Nashville. Someone in Tennessee is going to be sad to see him go. Next, Andrew Brunette returned to Minnesota, three years after winning the hearts of hockey fans in the state by guiding the team to the Western Conference Finals. Not but a few moments ago, Craig Weller, formally of Minnesota-Duluth, lately of the ...

There's only a week left until training camp starts. Currently, the Wild's prospects are in Traverse City, Michigan, playing in a tournament. They lost their first game 4-3 in a shootout to the Columbus Blue Jackets' prospects. But they bounced back today and beat the St. Louis Blues' prospect 3-2. You can check the scores here. On Sept. 19, all players report to the Xcel Energy Center for physicals before traveling to North Dakota for training camp on Sept. 20 - Sept. 23. In the mean time, I decided to do a random experiment and see what videos came up first when typing in Wild players' names into YouTube. Good thing the season starts ...
Andrew Brunette Tearing It Up in Minnesota
Published 10/17/2008 by Shane Giroux (noreply@blogger.com) at Colorado Avalanche Talk (aka Avs Talk)
When Andrew Brunette was forced out moved on this season, many of us lamented the loss of a solid leader. However, given the move to a more up-tempo style, it seemed that one of the self-professed slowest men in the league just didn't fit with the Avalanche's plan. ...
