Rivals - citing ESPN and the AP - is reporting that Atlanta Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino has resigned his position with the team to become the new head coach at Arkansas.
His contract with Arkansas will be a five-year deal worth $2.85 million per year to take over the Razorbacks.
The Petrino announcement takes Arkansas on a complete 360, as Arkansas was expected to offer the job to Auburn DC Will Muschamp. According to reports, Petrino was offered the position last night, but turned ...
Arkansas Finally Gets Its Man
Published 12/12/2007 by dawizofodds at The Wizard of Odds
In the end, Bobby Petrino didn't leave any friends behind in Atlanta. After 13 games as Falcon coach and less than a year after accepting what he called his "dream job," he resigned. Hours later he was in Fayetteville being announced as Arkansas' coach, doing the "Woo Pig Suey," which you can see in the second video. He's being ripped a new one in Atlanta. Falcon cornerback DeAngelo Hall said: "If I saw him in the street I wouldn't have anything to say to him. I don't have any respect for him. He turned his back on the organization." Atlanta ...
Bobby Petrino Arkansas Press Conference: Here's Why He Went to the Razorbacks
Published 12/12/2007 at FanIQ Blog
Bobby Petrino is being called all kinds of names -- lier, classless, etc -- and most of them are fair game. However, after watching Petrino's press conference last night it's easy to see why he wanted back in the college game. Can you blame him?
His press conference was certainly unique. The applause rivaled a State of the Union address, only they really meant it here. I've watched a lot of new coach introduction press conference and am doubtful I've ever heard more enthusiasm from fans and reporters alike. It's more of a community in the college game, and more passionate fan base. Who ...

In case you weren't up all night watching the Arkansas announcement that Bobby "I have no principles" Petrino will be the next head football coach, it is below, in two parts. The video really says more than I ever could about the situation. Before you get into it, keep in mind that this is a guy who had clandestine meetings ...
THE NICKELODEON: BOBBY PETRINO IS HAPPY, DEANGELO HALL NOT SO MUCH
Published 12/12/2007 by DCScrap at EPIC CARNIVAL | SPORTS NEWS WITH A TWIST
Bigger douchebag? Bobby Petrino or Nick Saban? Below is Bobby P's presser announcing him as the new Razorbacks' coach. From all I have read on the Interwebs, Hog fans are not upset in the least about how he became their new head bullshitter. Although I guess after Houston Nutt, anything looks good to Razorbacks fan. Try not to vomit in your mouth ... after the jump. Not surprisingly, DeAngelo Hall has a slightly different take on the sitch. And finally, we must not forget this ...

On the same day Bobby Petrino takes the Arkansas job, Jim Grobe becomes the hot name in the Michigan coaching search. FoxSports: Weeks ago, Petrino's name kept popping up among college athletic directors looking for new coaches. I wrote that Petrino sniffed around the Michigan job to no avail. GM Rich McKay and Petrino both denied that he was actually pursuing open positions on the college level. Why not Petrino? Inveterate job-hopper, guy you'd have to worry about from time to time if he's a success, which his track record at Louisville suggests he ...
Petrino to Arkansas reaction Videos
Published 12/14/2007 by Ethanator1088 at SEC Football Blogger
I found all of the good reactions to Bobby Petrino going to Arkansas. If you have not heard by now, he is the new head coach at Arkansas. He left the Atlanta Falcons. He coached the first 13 games of the seasons and left them in disarray. Vick had a lot to do with that, but Petrino was still under contract. He left the Louisville Cardinals in January. He left them in disarray after signing a huge contract extension. This is a great hire for Arkansas. I am sure that all of this will die down soon. As for right now, it is almost as hot as the Mitchell Report is. The following videos are of his press conference, Arthur Blank response, Deangelo Hall response, ESPN ...
