Obama Takes Campaign in the Gutter
Published 3/31/2008 by Ren McCormack at Hugging Harold Reynolds
Literally. Someone get this dude some bumpers. On his first warm-up ball, [US Senator Bob] Casey [D-PA] rolled a gutter ball. Obama's first ball flew gracefully off his hand but also ended up in the gutter. On his second try, he knocked down four pins. About five lanes over, a young man in a T-shirt that said "Beer Hunter" fell on his backside while bowling and still recorded a strike. His score you ask? Obama did improve, nearly getting a strike in one frame, and in the seventh, picking up a spare, giving him a score of 37. Hey, not for ...
Bush vs. Obama. And your winner is?
Published 3/31/2008 at The Eric Gargiulo Blog at phillyBurbs.com
This weekend the President of the United States and the man who could be filling his shoes had a little contest. Who is the better athlete? Obama and Bush had an athletic competition which may be a sign of the election in November. Barack Obama paid Allentown PA a visit and went bowling for votes. How did the senator from Chicago do? He bowled a 37. That’s right, he bowled a 37. George Bush threw out the opening pitch last night in Washington. Under pressure and boos, G.W. Bush threw a hell of a pitch. The Phils were reportedly on the phone immediately trying to work out an Eaton for Bush deal. So who won the weekend in political sports? George ...
BARACK OBAMA SUCKS AT BOWLING
Published 4/1/2008 at With Leather - Sports news and gossip to brighten this short, dark life
Campaigning in Pennsylvania, Senator Barack Obama has taken a departure from giving nation-unifying speeches at massive rallies in favor of more intimate campaign stops. Saturday night: Barry hit the lanes, bowling with Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (D - Pa.) and a local hausfrau. And it's a good thing the Democratic front-runner is good at hoops, because dude shot a 37. That is fucking terrible. "My economic plan is better than my bowling," Obama told fellow bowlers Saturday evening at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center. "It has to ...
Barack Obama Pennsylvania Bowling Alley Visit Turns Into Guttergate
Published 4/1/2008 at FanIQ Blog
Against my better judgment, here's some footage of Barack Obama attempt at bowling over the weekend in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Barack, who fancies playing hoops as much as possible which would lead us to believe he's coordinated, bowled a 37. It's one thing to mingle with the common man, quite another to display you're clearly not. No good small town Pennsylvanian would ever be caught in the double digits as evidenced by the best portion of this Associate Press write up:
"About five lanes over, a young man in a T-shirt that said "Beer Hunter" ...
Obviously You're Not a Golfer

Barack Obama apparently is the equivalent of a 5 year old girl when it comes to bowling as he bowled a 37. That is pretty damn pathetic, he better not give foreign leaders the option to a bowling competition when negotiating foreign policy. Plus what's up with 1/2 Black Men and their inability to high five without incredible awkwardness. First the richest sports figure in the world, Tiger Woods, and now potentially the next president of the United States. Both can't high five. Courtesy of Hugging Harold Reynolds
Obama's First Order of Biz: Replace Bowling Alley
Published 4/2/2008 at The Sporting Blog
By Chris Mottram In order to better understand why Obama wouldn't want a bowling alley in the White House, just watch this video of him attempting to roll over the weekend : He bowled a 37. As a total. To ensure that he will never be embarrassed like this again, he plans on ripping out the White House's bowling alley and installing a basketball court , should he be elected president: Indy Star wrote: Barack went on to refer to himself as the "Baller in Charge." Personally, I love his attempt at slang, but he may wanna take a visit to Urban Dictionary before he refers to himself as a "baller" again. It has several meanings, ...

Obama: “I Scored 37 in Bowling, Remember? Wasn’t that Funny?”

As a service to the Obama campaign, I am now going to make fun of his bowling ability.

Obama, you suck at bowling. You ought to be bowling at a 10-year-old’s birthday party. You scored a total of 37, for God’s sakes! This is from March 30th, but still funny as hell one month later. Here’s the vid:
Obama, you ought to be thanking me right now. I’m giving you coverage like Chris Matthews does. This kind of NBC-esque coverage will help you right now.
YouTube of the Day: Obama talks ball with Jimmy Kimmel
Published 6/16/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
Barack Obama appeared via satellite on a special edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday, which aired prior to Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The interview is light-hearted and entertaining, especially when the two start talking hoops. My favorite part is when Obama says he's getting rid of the bowling alley in the White House and replacing it with a basketball court. Smart move, sir. Get your Obama throwback jersey today! Catching Up with Obama in the Sports Blogosphere

It was a very busy weekend for Barack Obama, the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party in this year's presidential election. Huh? Oh, no, I don't mean in a "political sense" -- he probably made some speeches, I'm not sure. But I do know that he was quite the hot topic in the world of sports blogs. ...

Fore years: Will Obama bring his clubs to 1600 Pennsylvania?
Published 11 days ago by Jay Busbee at Devil Ball Golf
And the Obamamania marches on ... an article in USA Today wonders whether President-Elect Barack Obama will continue the longstanding tradition of presidents who have made golf an integral part of their recreational activities: Fourteen of the past 17 presidents of the United States have made golf a small part of the presidential landscape, with Herbert Hoover, Harry Truman and Jimmy Carter the only heads of state who never headed to the first tee. In fact, Dwight Eisenhower, often criticized by Democrats for playing too much golf while in office, had a putting green installed just a short stroll from the Oval ...
