Video: Stuart Scott Interviews Barack Obama
Published 8/26/2008 by Chuck at Sportaphile
Theres nothing particularly insightful about this interview, but there are clips of Scott and Obama playing one-on-one B-Ball interweaved in the segment. Stuart asks Obama a couple good questions, but for the most part the interview is forgettable.
This post on AOL Fanhouse (along with the comments) think Scott took it too easy on Obama, and also raised the question of ESPN being unfair by not interviewing John McCain.
I have to call BS, because Obama has a stronger reputation with sports and I just can’t see McCain doing any sort of physical activity with Bob Ley. ...
Cubs Or White Sox? Obama Invites North Side Scorn [MLB]

As you saw in our morning video pancake breakfast, ESPN's Stuart Scott figured that the best way to get to know Barack Obama was to play him in a game of one-on-one (hard foul, Obama takes an elbow to the head! Now they're brawling! ...). Scott then sat down with the Democratic Presidential nominee to talk sports, and things went pretty much as expected until the subject of baseball came up. The Cubs, they're nice, you go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, the beautiful people out there, people aren't watching the game. ...

Do you remember when Bill Simmons was supposed to have Barack Obama on his podcast?
My bet is that he can’t forget. This Rick Reilly piece won’t help.
I’m loath to fuel the fire of publicity, hype, and news about news that ESPN thrives on, but I was going to write something about Simmons today and I just saw this new ...
Sports and Politics

I wasn’t so shocked to see that Monday Night Football has decided to run interviews with Barack Obama and John McCain during the broadcast on the night before the election. ESPN seems to have taken its place in pop culture as the sports channel that is also an “all around” news source. Many times I hear about current events that are not sports related on sports radio. Colin Cowherd talks a LOT about things that are not sports every day as does Dan Patrick. I guess they figure that some of us will never watch regular news so they should do this as a sort of PSA to keep the sports junkies informed about the rest of ...
