B-Diddy Is Leaving The Warriors (For NY?)
The Play In California — As many of you know by now, Baron Davis may no longer be a Golden State Warrior, or for the purpose of this blog, a Golden State WARRRIAHHHHHH! B-Diddy has decided to opt out of his contract and become a free agent, basically meaning he’s ready to take that long BART ride home to greener pastures away from Oakland. On the plus side, this frees up some money for the Warriors to use to keep Monte Ellis around and perhaps pick up someone else on the free agent market. This will also help the WARRIAHHHS pay for Don Nelson’s tab at McNally’s Irish Pub out in North Oakland. Sadly, this is just the beginning of the Warriors foray into ...

Baron Davis and Elton Brand opt out…. Whats next?
Hail Mary Jane — Well I have to admit, I didn’t see this one coming. Two NBA stars opted out of their contracts with their current teams to test the completely broke market. Baron Davis left 17.8 million on the table to become a free agent and Elton Brand left $16 million on the table. These are two franchise players that anyone would love to have on their team but who can afford them? Man, and I really liked Baron Davis at Golden St. He should still try to resign with them if they give him a better offer, he really doesn’t have a lot of other ...

Early Free Agent News
Depressed Fan — Jose Calderon says he's staying in Toronto. Not much of a surprise there. Gilbert Arenas got not one, but two max offers last night. One from Golden State, one from Washington. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution thinks the Sixers are going full-steam ahead after Josh Smith, and they aren't happy about it. Smith will reportedly visit the Sixers this week, possibly as early as tomorrow morning. The Knicks are interested in Chris Duhon. Stephen A. Smith thinks Baron Davis wants to go to the Knicks, which would only be possible as part of a sign and trade. Seeing as how the Warriors are already trying to ...

Free Agents!  They’re Everywhere!
Dropping Dimes — By now, you’ve likely heard that a few of last season’s top producers (and one that should have been pre-injury) have decided that they will test the free agency waters.  Obviously, this will have a vast impact on the upcoming fantasy season.  Rumors have it that Baron Davis will look at the Clippers, with the possible addition of Gilbert Arenas in Golden State?  It’s a crazy world we live in; this I know.  Stay tuned to see where these players land, as we’re seeing some ...

Baron Davis Is Confident He'll Be Elton Brand's TeammateFanHouse
After Baron Davis broke the Warriors' hearts by opting out and agreeing to become a Clipper , Golden State did the logical thing and offered the Clippers' star free agent a max deal to come and play in the Bay area. It's Brand or bust for less-interesting WarriorsInhistoric: The Sports History Blog
That 2007 Warriors team was too talented for its own good. When they beat the Dallas Mavericks in the first round, Golden State had a starting lineup with five players capable of scoring 20 a game. But a team that talented is too hard to sustain. And a year later, J-Rich and Baron Davis are gone, and the Warriors appear to be near rebuilding. The Warriors have offered Elton Brand a $100 ...
Golden State Has Made a Large, Albeit Likely Futile, Offer to Elton BrandFanHouse
Chris Mullin is not likely to come out of this offseason looking, shall we say, golden. First, he drafted a[nother] lanky power forward who will need some time to develop. Now, the Warriors appear to be grasping at straws by throwing around as much money as they can ...

Baron Davis Leaves the Warriors for the Clippers--And Both Teams Are Happy20 Second Timeout
It has been reported by multiple sources that Baron Davis will sign a five year, $65 million contract with the L.A. Clippers as soon as the NBA's annual moratorium on signings and trades ends on July 9; the moratorium is necessary because the next season's salary cap--which is based on the league's overall revenues--must be precisely determined in order to calculate bookkeeping issues such as ...
Baron SurpriseThe Shamrock Headband
Well, this is a bit loopy. The internets are reporting that Baron Davis has "verbally agreed" to sign a five year, $65 million deal with the LA Clippers, mere hours after rather abruptly opting out of his Warriors contract. This is obviously pretty big news, and lips are aflutter that this is merely the first salvo fired in post-KG basketball, that Baron and Elton Brand (also a free agent, ...
And suddenly? The LA Clippers are contenders. The Grand National Championships
Really. There are the usual caveats of health and well-being. I mean, I can figure that the Baron is going on the injured list. But now the Western Conference has a new combatant for the Western Conference title. And it's the L.A. Clippers of basketball. Yeah. They do exist. But Baron Davis took 5 years and 65 million dollars to join a re-upping for less money Elton Brand. And now the Clippers ...

I Guess We Can Forget Elton BrandDepressed Fan
Baron Davis reportedly has a verbal agreement with the Clippers for a 5-year, $65M deal. If this move appeases Elton Brand, which it probably will, then he'll resign with them. To make it work, Maggette would have to be renounced, then Brand would have to resign for somewhere near $14M for the first year to clear up the $13M to pay Baron.
