Watch as Richie Sexson charges the mound after Kason Gabbard throws a pitch at his head, sparking a riotous brawl between the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers:
Oh shit no, that pitch was nowheres near his head. And yet Sexson charged the mound, threw his helmet, and tackled Gabbard, probably sending the dainty pitcher back to the disabled list. Maybe all this renewed energy by the Mariners will fill the seats. Or...maybe not.

We had't had a good bench clearing, batter storming the mound fight this year.
Thanks to Richie Sexson's lunacy that's been corrected.
Like these Rangers announcers, you'll have some trouble figuring out why Sexson charges the mound. The pitch doesn't hit him. You'll hear that broadcaster Tom Grieve isn't a big fan:
"That pitch wasn't even close. That pitch is a foot away from him. That is a gutless, 6'7, .200 hitting formerly good player. What a joke."
"If it was 2 feet lower ... it'd have been a strike!" ...

Richie Sexson instigated a bench clearing brawl after he was hit by a pitch, he was brushed back a pitch didn't come close to him. Kudos to The Big Lead for the find. Pitcher Kason Gabbard, who had just been reactivated, looked like a deer caught in 6'8" headlights.

Bugs and Cranks has video of the Rangers and Mariners playing the feud last night, and announcer Tom Grieve doesn't seem to respect Richie Sexson decision to charge the mound.... In fairness to Sexson, the Mariners' Felix Hernandez had hit two batters in the previous inning and he was charging on anything close. I've also never seen a helmet throw land like that. Fun times.
