Everyone's talking about Terrelle Pryor's performance last night, and deservedly so. The guy wasn't great, but he was pretty good all game and was great when it mattered, on that last drive. But while Pryor may be the headlight machine guns of this James Bond car of an offense, Beanie Wells is the engine, the oil slick dispenser, the assorted parts that convert it to a submarine, and probably the passenger side ejector seat as well. 22 carries for 168 yards and a touchdown is not too shabby, and neither was this:

Watch closely the 33 yard scamper he makes in the Wisconsin game- YouTube Preview Image ...

Fortunately for the Big Ten's postseason hopes, Penn State came out in the second half and eliminated any hope of Michigan continuing its first quarter heroics. Unfortunately for Nittany Lion backers, the PSU defense will not be able to ignore the quarterback in the running game against OSU and its power-packed backfield combo, Pryor and Wells. These things you already know.
The question you may be asking: whatever happened to quarterbacks handing the ball off and throwing? The short answer is that running with your quarterback allows you to stay in a spread formation and still ...
