TRICK PLAYS: STATUE OF LIBERTY REDUX
With Leather — “Alright men! We’ve got a good little gadget here for the goalline. Garrett, you’re gonna fake the handoff to the tailback, then toss the ball over your head like a big sissy. Joel, when everyone else is playing the run, you’re gonna catch that big Nancy pass and squeeze that with all your might. Hold onto it like you’re dragging your girl down a flight of stairs, you hear me boy? Let’s get this one, men! And then all the weed’s on ol’ Coach tonight! Now go get ‘em!” ...

'Trick' or 'panic,' NAIA college completes the weirdest pass of the year
Dr. Saturday — Under normal circumstances, I would never consider that the play below could be "planned" in any conventional way, including drawing it up in the dirt. A no-look, over-the-shoulder throwback at the goal line is too ridiculous even for a sandlot playbook. But given the circumstances for tiny Bethel (Kan.) College, which surprisingly led nearby Sterling College ...

Behind the Back Over the Head Touchdown Pass Actually Works
Total Pro Sports — The art of performing a successful trick play can come down to deception as much as any specific execution on the field.  In this case, both were crucial to the success of the play.  And what a play it was. Reminiscent of the behind the back basket scored by a minor league basketball player recently, this play was crazy.  While the basket was improvised (we assume), this play was actually designed to have an over-the-head back-turned throw. Here's how the play unfolds in the video.  The team is on the goal line about to score.  They line up in a run formation to trick the defense into stacking up all their guys in the ...

The Best Trick Play Ever (This Week)
TheScore.com Blog — Or, as the Sporting Blog would put it, the best trick play that will never work again (this week).

The Fake Pitch Alley-Oop Is Clearly the New Statue of Liberty
Brahsome - Care To Get Nice? — Bethel College decided to run the following play in a game. It is the most insane and ridiculous goal line call I have ever seen. Also: surely there’s an easier way to run a fake. I mean the guy was even covered.

Video: Bethel College Has No Room For Conformity
MOUTHPIECE Blog // A Chicago-Addled Sports Blog — What, you think our quarterback is just going to throw it facing the line of scrimmage every time? THINK AGAIN: Rumor has it that later in this game, Bethel’s running back took a handoff and ran backwards through the line of scrimmage. It didn’t work out as well as this play.

Three Videos That You Might Want To Watch
SportOxygen — If you already didn't see, three plays occurred last night. I advise you to watch, because they were all pretty entertaining. Although 2/3 of the plays had no effect on the game, it was fun to watch. Enjoy. Nice shot, huh? He spun, and just bombed it over two defenders. And in. It's always so funny to me how the referees never care about those plays. They're the closest guys to the play, and they don't react. It's amazing. I would be jumping up and down, "Oh my god! Call off the game, I'm going home! That concludes my day!" Crazy shot ...

There Is Crazy, And Then There is REALLY Crazy
My Sports Rumors — Anyone who has watched football has seen their fair share of crazy plays. We can all probably spew of the details of the craziest plays we’ve ever seen. But Bethel College in Kansas took crazy plays to a whole new level. I don’t really have any words to describe this and that’s even after a night of drinking. All I have to say is DAMNNNNNN that’s some crazy shit. Take a look. ...

Hot Clicks: Marisa Miller; Marv Albert-50 cent feud
SI.com - Extra Mustard — DON'T FORGET TO CHECK BACK THIS AFTERNOON FOR A SECOND EDITION OF HOT CLICKS After yesterday's Hot Clicks debacle (technical difficulties, false start on two-a-days, etc.), there was only one way I could make things up to the faithful members of Hot Clicks Nation -- Marisa Miller . And luckily for us, there just happened to be a taping of the new Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (to be seen Dec. 1 on CBS) last night. PopSugar.com has a meager 135 photos from the event ...

These Aren’t The Plays You’re Looking For: New Trick Plays
Pyle of List —   Trick plays have been used in football even before they legalized the forward pass.  But many of the plays that probably confused the hell out of the defense when they were still new (reverses, double passes, draws, screens) are considered commonplace today.  Even the Statue of Liberty play gets used often enough these days that, while still fun, it’s not that big of a surprise. But just when you’re beginning to think that no truly unique trick plays can be invented, you see two within the same week:  The bounce double pass & the “bouquet pass.”  This got us thinking: ...

BETHEL COLLEGE PUTS ANNEXATION OF PUERTO RICO TO SHAME
Unathletic — Anyone with a good childhood saw the football classic, Little Giants. Therefore, you should have no problem naming the otherwise illegal play of The Annexation of Puerto Rico as the best trick play of all-time. Bethel College (random school in Kansas), however, makes the play made famous by Little Giants look like a simple hand off. Hopefully the coach was able to get home okay. I imagine he’d have a hard time walking with stones as big as his. [via MySportsRumors]

Is This The New Trick Play For The NFL?
BlitzNation — If you haven’t seen this play yet, you have to watch the above video. The play occurred during a Bethel college football game. I really am not sure how this play even came into existence because of its risk factor, but for the moment, this is the trickiest play in football. The play begins with a fake pitch to the halfback, which ultimately will drag the defense to the left side of the field. Following the fake pitch to the left, the Quarterback tosses the ball over his head to the right side. (Note: The fake pitch and throw is all one motion, which explains the risk factor). As the QB fakes the pitch, the Tight End lined up on the right side of the ...
