Celtics basketball is back, ladies and gentleman, even if it is just the meaninglessness of preseason. After tonight, whether you value these games or not, you’ve got something to be excited about.
The C’s may have lost tonight’s initial preseason outing, but that’s not what this is all about. It’s about evaluating players, seeing what you have off the bench, and trying to establish your rotation.
Tonight, there were a small handful of guys that stood out. One is newly acquired center Patrick O’Bryant, who started in place of the ...
Bill Walker Dunks On Theo Ratliff [NBA Preseason Highlights]
Published 10/9/2008 at FanIQ Blog
At this time last week I didn't think I was going to be all that geeked for the upcoming NBA season. But as the preseason starts heating up, as the highlights roll in, and as I'm reminded of all the big storylines all has changed. Last year was the most I'd watched the NBA since Michael Jordan retired, and this year is likely to top that.
Most of us are all pumped to see Greg Oden's official debut, alongside this year's leading starts Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley. Not to mention, Dwyane Wade's return to good health after his ...

So there I was… watching my DVR’d version of last night’s preseason game… when Patrick O’Bryant made a nice pass from the top of the key to Darius Miles under the basket. Darius isn’t quite as explosive as he once was… so instead of a 180 ...
Bill Walker Announces His Arrival

There’s one thing you can say about preseason NBA: It provides good highlights while waiting for the weekend fun. Just ask Bill Walker and Theo Ratliff. Walker, a Celtics rookie, made his debut against the 76ers last night and because of his ability to elevate, it was certainly a memorable start to his NBA career.
Not that it matters, but the Celtics did wind up losing the 76ers last night, but the game will be remembered more for Walker’s nasty facial of Theo Ratliff than it will for the final score.

Early “statement game” against Philly

Did you watch the Knicks game? If you did, how many time did you see Jamario Moon “drive the basket aggressively”? You didn’t because it didn’t happen so I’m going to go ahead and say that Mike Ulmer didn’t watch the game or if he did he was baked out of his skull at the time. A worthwhile quote from that ...

2008-09 NBA Draft Kit: Rookie Report, Part III
Published 10/12/2008 by RotoRob at RotoRob
The 2008-09 RotoRob NBA Draft Kit steamrolls on, as today we present the third and final part of our Rookie Report.
George Hill, PG, San Antonio Spurs: Hill, a 6”2” combo guard, turned down the opportunity to play at more renowned basketball programs, opting to attend IUPIU so he could stay near his sick great grandfather. He really stepped up offensively last year, averaging 21.5 PPG to take home Summit League Player of the Year honours. Speed and athleticism are Hill’s calling cards, but he’ll need to work on his defensive play and add strength. Hill will get a long look in exhibition play, but with Roger ...
JUSTIN KENDALL IS A DICK
Published 27 days ago by noreply@blogger.com (BP) at I *Heart* Celtics
Thanks to Basketbawful for the heads-up, but some rando blogger is besmirching the honor of the venerable Bill Walker. This is what he says: Former Kansas State Wildcat Bill Walker is making a name for himself in the NBA as a dick. The Boston Celtics rookie acts like a punk throughout this three-minute video. He tangles with all-stars Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets, and McGrady knocks Walker on his ass. Walker apparently didn't learn his lesson. Later in the video, he starts pushing Ming, and riot-starter Ron Artest actually plays peacemaker. Nice, Walker. You actually made Artest appear angelic. I agree ...
