ATB: No Bad Questions, Just Bad Reporters…
Rush The Court —
Is It an Upset if Nobody Was There to See It? Ole Miss 85, Kentucky 80. We’ll get to the game in a minute, but did anyone else notice just how empty the premium seats were in the Tad Smith Coliseum tonight? What gives - an ESPN game against Kentucky, long the standard-bearer of the SEC, and the place is mostly empty at ...
Billy Gillispie Is Not A Fan Of Sideline Reporters
AwfulAnnouncing —
In the pantheon of terrible sideline reporter questions, this one by Jeanine Edwards during the Kentucky-Ole Miss game wasn't the worst per se, but it definitely got a reaction out of Wildcats' Coach, Billy Gillispie. Listen closely around the :18 mark.... ...
Billy Gillispie Can’t Be Bothered With Questions About Jodie Meeks
College Hoops Journal —
A ridiculous overreaction by Gillispie when ESPN’s Jeannine Edwards asks him an extremely reasonable, obvious question about uber-scorer Jodie Meeks’ lack of offense last night against Ole Miss.
That makes Tubby seem downright cuddlesome.
I'm so happy these guys ran Tubby out of town and replaced him with someone so easy to root...

Billy Gillispie has no time for your "dumb question"
Outside the Boxscore —
For all of you college basketball fans, there was a nice SEC tussle between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Kentucky Wildcats. ESPN reporter Jeanine Edwards asked Gillispie regarding the play of Jodie Meeks who had been shut down during the first half of the game. Well, here is his response.
Billy Gillispie Thinks Your Question, Sideline Reporter, Is Dumb
FanHouse —
by Shane Bacon Filed under: Kentucky, Ole Miss, NCAA Basketball Media Watch, NCAA Basketball VideoI think we can all agree that Billy Gillispie doesn't exactly scream "Rocco Mediate-style interviews." Billy Clyde looks like he wants to win games, coach kids and, well, that's about it. Last night, with Gillispie's Wildcats up 39-37 at halftime, ESPN reporter Jeanine Edwards caught up with the UK coach. Edwards asked about Jodie Meeks, and, as you will now see, Gillispie thought Jeanine just chose her question poorly. Billy ...
Billy Gillispie dismisses the premise of your question
The Dagger —
Billy Gillispie is not known as the nicest or most affable coach in
college basketball. Most people think he's a jerk, with the possibly
exception of Kentucky fans (and I wouldn't rule them out, either). The following video is why ...
Billy Gillispie hates your question, Ms. Sideline Reporter

Billy Gillispie is not known as the nicest or most affable coach in
college basketball. Most people think he's a jerk, with the possibly
exception of Kentucky fans (and I wouldn't rule them out, either). The following video, which occurred at halftime of Ole Miss' 85-80 win over Kentucky Tuesday night, is why:
Awk-ward. I suppose I get get why Gillispie is slightly
irritated at the question. That's how it starts. Mild irritation. And
that's where it should end. Gillispie continues, and you can tell he's letting
his mild irritation turn in to seething, barely controllable rage,
which he just lets slip. And then ...
Billy Gillespie is Honest, Picky
Bootlegger Sports- Sports Humor Blog —
Kentucky and Ole Miss got together on the basketball court last night for a nationally televised game. Mississsippi took down the Wildcats 85-80. Those Rebels have really been playing well since their coach started beating cab drivers and stopped humping his wife. But the most interesting part of the evening, since it certainly isn’t SEC basketball, was UK coach Billy Gillespie’s shocking honesty for ESPN’s Jeanine Edwards.
As you can see in the above video, Gillespie delivered his critique in a calm and gentlemanly way, so how can you be mad at the guy? It’s ...
Billy Gillespie Thinks Kentucky Isn’t a One-Man Team, Rebukes ESPN’s Jeannine Edwards for “Bad Question”
The Big Lead —
Billy Gillespie, the foremost expert (currently) on recruiting 8th graders, got a bit huffy last night at halftime when ESPN’s Jeannine Edwards asked a logical question about Ole Miss containing his best scorer, Jodie Meeks. Karma chased Gillespie to the locker room, and finally caught him in the second half as the Wildcats lost to a weak Rebels team, 85-80.
No Bad Questions, Just Bad Reporters (Rush the Court)
Quick hits for winter Wednesday
gobsmackr —
Bill Gillispie doesn’t think Kentucky is a one-man team and makes sure Jeanine Edwards knows it.
Trouble in Terp-land as Gary Williams and an athletic department biggie disagree on a pair of recruits.
The economic crisis hits ESPN. And you don’t think this is a depression? Thanks to Deadspin.
The AP Top 25 rankings this week include teams that total 68 losses .. and it isn’t even February. There has to be a better way because the Top 25 has become a total farce.

Billy Gillispie wants to help Lisa Salters improve...
The Daily Gopher —
I tuned into the Kentucky/Ole Miss game at the start of the second half and heard the announcing crew elude to the brief interview Lisa Salters did with Kentucky coach Billie Gillispie. I knew the internet would come through for me...
I get that he didn't like the question but when your best player who averages nearly 26 points per game goes 0-6 in the first half, doesn't he also "get" that he's going to get asked about it? She didn't say anything about the score being closer than it should have been or pose it as OMG what are you going to do if Meeks doesn't score. It was a simple ...
VIDEO-TULANE GOES COAST TO COAST TO WIN; RICE COACH PISSED
The World of Isaac —
Is this ahole coaches week or something? First, Billy Gillespie acts like a total douche to a sideline reporter after a fairly appropriate question going into halftime..... And now Rice coach Ben Braun asks like a child after his team blows a huge lead and gets beat at the buzzer. So big deal the Tulane coach was waiting for you at mid-court with a sympathetic pat on the back? His team just had a Tyus Edney type layup to beat you after being down 19....excuse him for enjoying the moment. But by far the funniest part of the clip is when Braun actually tries to face off against the much bigger Dickerson. Its almost comical because it ...
ESPNer Turned Down Gillispie’s Amorous Advance
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
ESPN college basketball reporter Jeannine Edwards and Kentucky Basketball Coach Billy Gillispie have been seeing quite a bit of each other in public of late.
Edwards has twice interviewed Gillispie during UK games this season and both times the coach responded with rude retorts, implying that Edwards was asking dumb questions while calling her credibility into question. Below are both exchanges.

What Is Billy Gillispie's Problem With ESPN's Jeanine Edwards?
FanHouse —
by Michael David Smith Filed under: Kentucky, NCAA Basketball Coaches, NCAA Basketball Media Watch Last month we noted the above video, in which Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie responds to a question from ESPN sideline reporter Jeanine Edwards by saying, "That's a really bad question." That exchange got Gillispie some unwelcome attention, but it wasn't enough to prevent him from having another testy exchange with Edwards last week. What Is Billy Gillispie's Problem With ESPN's Jeanine Edwards? originally appeared on NCAA Basketball FanHouse on ...
Game Night: Billy Gillispie vs. Jeannine Edwards
Rush The Court —
Other than Michigan St. @ Purdue tonight (and really, who wants to watch that?), the games tonight are quite pedestrian. So piggybacking a report from SportsbyBROOKS yesterday (via Deadspin) that the root of the frosty relations between Kentucky capo Billy Gillispie and ESPN sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards goes back to her refusal to enjoy consensual carnal relations with go out with him, we feel compelled to comment on such a weighty matter. ...

How Much Does Tradition Really Matter??
X’s & O’s of Basketball —
If tradition means anything in sports, in basketball, then the comparison between Billy Gillispie and John Calipari so far has been a study in contrasts. I've been following Coach Calipari on Twitter the past couple of months and he is so immersed in everything UK that you can hardly believe that he's only been there for 4 short months. Here are some example twitter updates just from today: UKCoachCalipari: With 450,000 followers, I am so humbled by the breadth and depth of Wildcat Nation. about 3 hours ago from TweetDeck UKCoachCalipari: Got up real early (time change) 2 run on the Strip, which was still cool. ...
Remembering Billy and Jeanine
straitpinkie.com —
The last time the Wildcats faced the Ole Miss Rebels we heard Billy Gillispie’s “That’s A Bad Question” remark to Jeanine Edwards at halftime.
Who knows what really happen between the two? But, it was quite obvious that Billy Clyde had a little thing for Jeanine and was upset that she wouldn’t return the favor. Maybe if he would have shared the love and offered her some of his Appletini instead of guzzling them all by himself, he would have had better luck.
Now Billy Clyde is gone. Instead of roaming the bench at Rupp, his time is apparently spent playing golf at 3am whilst drinking some cranberry and vodka.
We now ...
