Oklahoma Can't Possibly Make Sonics Ads That Are This Awesome
Published 4/24/2008 at FanIQ Blog
I've admittedly seen some weird commercials in my day, but these Seattle Supersonics ads from back in the day are solidly in the ultra-WTF category. They feature Predrag "Peja" Drobnjak, who played for Seattle from 2001-2003, along with his rocket-powered cat Jinkkies. If that last sentence didn't make any sense, just wait until you get to Jerome James dressed as an alien bear. And there's a bit on probing too. Awesome. By the way, I think ...

THE SONICS USED TO BE SO COOL
Published 4/24/2008 at With Leather - Sports news and gossip for your impressionable young children
Holy crap.  Injury Rate of FanIQ! at the Disco just gave me the joy equivalent of four Oregon lineman calendars when he turned up these early-21st century commercials for Seattle Sonics promotions.  They star little-known Predrag "Peja" Drobnjak and his even littler-known cat Jinkkies.  The one above also features former Sonic Jerome James as an alien bear, which -- admit it -- is a role he was born to play.  No team in Oklahoma City could ever have commercials this awesome.  Which is why Sonics owner Clay Bennett's final ...

... game 2 thoughts. How about this thought: "Kobe Bryant is good." The Suns should start Diaw? Maybe. TrueHoop won some awards! No surprise, but so do a lot of very nice blogs. Stop Mike Lupica is on his way out! Well to here anyway. People actually listen to Tim Duncan? Not surprising. Wouldn't you listen to a guy with all those ring-a-lings? Yeah, what is with this Sonics ad? Deshawn Stevenson really is a clown. The guy has ZERO ...

Friday Video Blowout

Pejas and kitties and space bears...oh my!
Published 6/26/2008 by Basketbawful (noreply@blogger.com) at Basketbawful
Even as Sam Presti prepares to select the fourth overall pick in tonight's NBA Draft, the battle wages on to determine whether the SuperSonics will be moving to Oklahoma City or staying put in Seattle. Anything can happen, but I personally think the Sonics are going to be seeing a lot less rain very shortly. So I'd like to take a few minutes and harken back to everything the Seattle SuperSonics have given us over the years: Those back-to-back finals appearances, the 1979 league championship, that improbable run to the '87 Western Conference Finals, the most epic first round failure of all ...
