Papelbon, Delcarmen take the stage as Milli Vanilli
Extra Bases —
Move over Gino, there's a new video sensation in Boston that made its debut at Fenway Park last night during the rain delay before the Red Sox-Cardinals game.
Sox relievers Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen performed and "sang" in a remix video parody of Milli Vanilli's Blame it On the Rain.
Milli Vanilli were a pop and dance music project from Germany that featured Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. The duo won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990 for their debut album. But their rapid success was short-lived as their Grammy was revoked after it was revealed that the actual vocals on the record were not the voices of Morvan and Pilatus. ...
Your Friday Night Game Salvaged, Thanks to Papelbon and Delcarmen
Surviving Grady —
There are several things in life that are much more glorious than seeing Jon Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen lip-synch Milli Vanilli's "Blame It On The Rain." Right now, however, I can't think of a single one.
Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen Blame It On The Rain Remix Video
FanIQ Blog —
The Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals were forced into a rain delay before kicking off their series Friday night and during the wait they were "treated" to a new hit music video... or something like that.
Is it possible to say you lip-synced Milli Vanilli? Well, relievers Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen put together a video song to 'Blame It On The Rain' for all to see on the Fenway Jumbo-tron.
You have to love the Sox announcer's stunned silence and then humbly admitting, "That's your Red Sox closer." ...

The Mighty Quinn Media Machine —
During last night's rain delay at Fenway, a new video debuted on the JumboTron courtesy of Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen. They did their best Milli Vanilli impression and did their song "Blame It On the Rain," with Wally in the background dancing in a raincoat. ...
Papelbon Finds A New Way to Embarrass Himself
Fenway West - A Boston Red Sox Blog —
Jonathan Papelbon seems to have too much time on his hands; this season we have seen him embarrass himself at Mike Lowell's Dancing With The Stars fund raiser and we saw him get national headlines for his comments about the Rays. During last night's rain delay a video was aired of Papelbon dancing and lip syncing "Blame it on the Rain" with Manny Delcarmen and Wally and some mystery guy on drums. Watch it below: ...
Blame it on the Rain Delay
Fire Brand of the American League —
It’s already made it’s way around….but here’s MDC and Paps playing a little Milli Vanilli’s “Blame it on the Rain” during last night’s rain delay. Kudos to the Sox marketing team for dreaming it up and to the players for having a sense of humor and not taking themselves too seriously.
MDC’s got some serious moves out there!
Red Sox Blame It on the Rain
The Slanch Report —
I love Jonathan Papelbon. He always seems to be having a great time, whether he’s dominating opposing batters or explaining the vagueries of craps to Hideki Okajima. Recently he and fellow reliever Manny Delcarmen decided to make a video tribute to Milli Vanilli’s classsic hit, “Blame it on the Rain” which was played last night at ...
BoSox Relievers Channel Milli Vanilli In Delay
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
Ah, Jonathan Papelbon. From your crazy jigs to accepting nudie photos from fans near the bullpen, to teaching your teammates how to play craps , you never fail to amuse us and give me blog fodder. This is what happens during a rain delay at Fenway, as fans were treated to a video of Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen getting their Rob and Fab on, cranking out a remix of Milli Vanilli’s“Blame It On The Rain” while waiting for play to resume between the Red Sox and Cardinals (video thanks to the BOSTON GLOBE’S EXTRA BASES blog.) Honestly, I’m anticipating the follow up hit from the duo. Maybe a cover of “Girl You Know It’s ...
Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen Video
Knuckle Curve —
Boston Red Sox fans who have to wait out rain delays now have a new way to stay entertained thanks to pitchers Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen. Papelbon and Delcarmen, who are both relievers for Boston, made a music video where they remix Milli Vanilli’s “Blame it on the Rain”.
While the video itself is comical, there is additional humor once you realize that Papelbon and Delcarmen are lip synching a song that was lip synched to begin with. It’s safe to say that Papelbon and Delcarmen are about equally as talented as both halves of Milli Vanilli. ...
Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen do Milli Vanilli Remix
Larry Brown Sports —
I never thought much of Manny Delcarmen as a pitcher. At least he has a future as a backup singer one day in case he loses his day job. As far as Jonathan Papelbon goes, I’ve been hard on him for being outspoken about his money, but there’s no denying it: he’s a funny dude. If you thought Papelbon doing the Irish Jig was good, then you’ll love the way he and Delcarmen entertained the crowd during a rain delay at Fenway:
I really wasn’t old enough to fully appreciate Milli Vanilli in their heyday, but that’s still pretty funny regardless. That ...

SPORTSbyBROOKS —
This has a little age on it, but Thirsty13.com records Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Del Carmen’s “remix” video of Milli Vanilli’s Blame it On the Rain - which appeared on the JumboTron during a Red Sox rain delay last Friday: Sadly, no Bill Buckner appearances. Since of course these sorts of things only happen when you’re in first place (for now).

Afternoon Red Sox Delight - 6/27
SOX & Dawgs —
Tonight the Boston Red Sox venture into a park (Minute Maid Park) where they’ve never played before, at least in the regular season, to take on the Houston Astros.
Daisuke Matsuzaka will toe the rubber for the Red Sox and has never faced the Astros before. He will put his 8-1 record with a 3.46 ERA on the line and hope to last longer than an inning like he did in his first start back on Saturday from the disabled list.
One-time Red Sox farmhand Runelvys Hernandez will make his 2008 debut for the Astros tonight. He was signed by the Sox as a minor league free agent last year (2007) and pitched in Pawtucket until June 1st, 2007. He had ...

blame it on the rain! Yes it was a teeth grinder and it will go on the tally. Any time you are up 8-2 against a DREADFUL Kansas City team, you've got to win it.... ESPECIALLY when a win plus a Yankee loss would have brought the Sox to within 3 in the loss column and made this weekend at least interesting. And also Manny ...
