Random Thoughts
Published 12/19/2007 by Amy at Land of Patriots | New England Patriots Blog
The most my Christmas-harried mind can come up with right now is a list, in no particular order: 1. The Steelers became the third team to lose their next game following their meeting with the Patriots. The Eagles lost to the Seahawks, 28-24; the Ravens lost to the Colts, 44-20; the Steelers lost to the Jaguars, 29-22. I started paying attention because the Eagles and the Ravens really battled the Pats, but couldn’t bring as much fight the following week. The Steelers didn’t seem to leave it all on the field in Foxboro, so I thought they might break the streak here, but no. They lost anyway. 2. Miami won! Break out the champagne so ...

Four Downs: NFC South

Printable version Four Downs: NFC South 2/6/2008 Atlanta Falcons Blank Generation The new All-American Football League has a Web site where you can apply for a full range of jobs — everything from seasonal paid intern to coach to manager of football operations — for one or more of the league’s six teams. Given the number of times they’ve been jilted in the last few months, one would not have been surprised if the Falcons had posted their general manager and head coach openings on their own site. Rich McKay’s reassignment and Bobby Petrino’s “Woo Pig Sooey!” departure were followed by a Bill Parcells-declined invitation to ...

It was really hard for Bobby Petrino to wreck the Falcons
Published 5/28/2008 at Shutdown Corner
Leaving the Falcons mid-season was the "hardest thing [he's] ever had to do in his life," in fact. And you know, I suspected that he was really broken up about it. Just look at him at the press conference when he did the "Pig Sooey!" thing. His heart was barely in it. That last "Sooey" barely had any heart in it at all. Please pray for him. Petrino spoke out about it yesterday at the SEC spring meetings. "It was an unfortunate thing because of the timing. The timing of it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life." [...] "[The ...
