Esky's Back!
Published 11/13/2007 by Dan Steinberg at D.C. Sports Bog
Esky's Back! If you saw the seven-minute span where I actually thought that Esky had been reaquired by D.C. United, feel free to laugh at me, send cached information to various media watch-dog sites, and demand I be fired. If you didn't see it, you can watch this video from BobbyBoswell.com ...

Laugh of the Day: Esky Returns to DC United
Published 11/13/2007 by SF at The Offside Rules
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! For all of the ridiculous debate on this blog, The Washington Post blog, Bigsoccer, and several capital-area barbershops this week about Bobby Boswell and jokes, surely this proves that dude has more humor in his left nut than many fans have at all. Nice one BB.

The Return Of Esky
Published 11/13/2007 by admin at Booked For Dissent
Normally I don’t re-post videos I’ve seen on other blogs, especially if they’re much more popular than mine.  The American soccer world is small enough that it everybody reads everybody else’s site anyway.  But this, from BobbyBoswell.com, was too funny to not post, and features a star turn by Ray Trifari.

MLS meets "The Office"
Published 11/14/2007 by Beau Dure at Sports Scope
Since we're in the D.C. metro area and at least one of us writes about soccer on a regular basis, we set a high bar for D.C. soccer-related content. This one clears it. Alecko Eskandarian, a former D.C. United forward now with Toronto Real Salt Lake ...

Spotted: Alecko Eskandarian on Trial at Gooch's Club
Published 12/14/2007 by SF at The Offside Rules
Last seen poking around the front office of D.C. United for work, Eski has popped up in Belgium looking for a job at Standard Liege. If that name rings a bell it's because it's Gooch Onyewu's club. Apparently Eski is on trial there (not like for war crimes or anything, just to try out for the team). Have you ever been to Belgium? I have and it was the most boring place I have ever been to. And I went to high school in west Texas! Maybe the whole place isn't bad, but Brussels is amazingly lame. I ended up hooking up with a co-worker (which I soooo don't recommend unless you are ready to update your profile on HotJobs the ...

LA update
Published 5/17/2008 at Behind the Badge
Quick update before we head out for a team dinner this evening... the guys trained behind closed doors this afternoon on a practice field at the Home Depot Center. The team played some possession, worked on defensive posture and finished with some set pieces.  Prior to today's session, Zach Wells and Jaime Moreno took part in a short press conference along with Chivas USA's Paulo Nagamura and Brad Guzan. A few excerpts from Señor Moreno when he was asked about the team's early season struggles: "The reason is simple - we're not playing well. We worked so hard from pre-season and now we find ourselves at this ...

Bobby Boswell minus the dotcom
Published 7/24/2008 by Beau Dure at The Netminder
Bobby Boswell had a stunning start to his MLS career. He went undrafted but immediately won a place in D.C. United's starting lineup, which was short on defenders after losing Ryan Nelsen to England. The next year, he was the MLS defender of the year. The next year, he was in and out of the lineup at D.C. United. Boswell also is something of a new media celebrity. He starred in an entertaining video when he was nominated as one of Cosmopolitan's top bachelors in the country, and he followed up with more videos (the Alecko Eskandarian internship is the best) and a blog at BobbyBoswell.com He scaled back this year after being ...
