Bruins Perform "Alive": The Rock Band Edition
Hub Hockey —
Yesterday the Boston Bruins Foundation held their 19th annual Bruins Wives' Charity Carnival at the TD Banknorth Garden. Even though the event offers a wide range of events from autograph signing to playing ping-pong with P.J. Axelsson, one of the main attractions this year was Rock Band 2. Players and fans played the game all day long rocking out to their favorite tunes. But the main event happened later on during the day when an all-Bruins band consisting of Milan Lucic (guitar), Mark Stuart (lead vocals), Matt Lashoff (bass), and Blake Wheeler (drums) tore the roof off the Garden by performing Pearl Jam's "Alive". Does this mean that Boston has ...

The odds that an NHL player will attend a charity event greatly increase when they involve food, women or goofy fun to be had. The Boston Bruins Foundation's 19th annual Wives' Charity Carnival had at least two of the three, including Chuck Kobasew challenging fans in ping-pong and Michael Ryder battling brave souls in knock-hockey. (Did he need a center to help him score?) As Hub Hockey notes, the main event took place during a game of "Rock Band 2," as Milan Lucic (guitar), Mark Stuart (lead vocals), Matt Lashoff (bass) and Blake Wheeler (drums) tore the roof off the Garden by performing ...

This is from the Bruins Wives Carnival, which was Sunday at the Garden. The B’s would like you to know that they’re still "Alive."

Reason #283,747,364 I love the Bruins
Fire Wagon Hockey —
It's brutal out there - people tryin' to knock you down, shake you up, make you quit. It's called hockey. Sound familiar? It's a lot like life. You want to succeed? You gotta be tough, stand up for yourself. Sometimes you dish it out. Other times? You gotta take it. But you keep. Getting. Up. No matter how much it hurts. Give up? Give in? Wha? Pft, yeah, right. Never! Rough stuff? Hey, you gotta defend yourself and your friends. That's what it's all about. That's. What friends. Do. Yeah it's aggressive, and I like it. Why? Because. I. Get it.

... Jam's "Alive." The only real disappointment in this video is the fact that we don't see the video game screen, so we've got no idea how they did and what difficulty they were playing on. Although, being the RB2 nerd that I am, I'll go out on a limb and say the drummer isn't possibly playing on anything higher than medium.
The players in question are Milan Lucic (guitar), Mark Stuart (lead vocals), Blake Wheeler (drums) and Matt Lashoff (bass).

Pop Quiz Preview: Boston Bruins (1) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (6)
Puck Daddy —
Grab your No. 2 pencils for our previews of the 2009 Stanley Cup playoffs' second round, featuring an academic format and the sort of useless knowledge you'd otherwise expect from a pop quiz. So much has changed since the Boston Bruins last appeared in a Stanley Cup playoff game. Swine flu. Obama's 100th day in the office. The release of that flick where Beyonce beats up the chick from "Heroes." Oh, and the Carolina Hurricanes rallying to take down the Devils in Game 7, earning a date with the No. 1-seeded B's. The Canes enter ...
