Chivas USA of Major League Soccer today announced that 23-year-old goalkeeper Brad Guzan, a Chivas USA Original and the 2007 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, has joined one of England’s most storied soccer clubs, Aston Villa of the English Premier League. The announcement comes following approval of Guzan’s British work permit today by the United Kingdom’s Home Office this morning. If finally happened, Brad Guzan secured his UK work permit.  After being denied in the winter, Guzan finally got his move to the premiership.  The fee is rumored to be about $1.5 million which is more than half of what Villa was ready to pay in the winter.  Now with the acquisition of Guzan, Villa has the two goalkeepers they wanted.  Unfortunately for Guzan, he will probably be the backup to Brad Friedel who moved to Aston Villa just this past week.   What do you think of the move?  Are you happy to see him be a back up?  I know that I’m not.  I would have rather seen him move to a team where he could start.  The only ...
