This time of year you have take any comments made by a NFL GM or Head Coach with a grain of salt. Everyone is afraid that another team will trade up to snag their most coveted player. John Fox and his staff are no different. They have dangled the ...Broncos, Chiefs like Clady

Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson It could boil down to a battle between two AFC West teams for services of Boise State's Ryan Clady, who is now the top left tackle on most teams' boards with Jake Long signed in Miami. Still, the run on ...Broncos Select Ryan Clady In 1st Round

OT Ryan Clady will stay a Bronco. He comes from Boise State and at 6′6”, 310 lbs he will use his size to protect Jay Cutler’s blindside. This pick will result in a happy QB and some big numbers from our receivers. A quick look at Clady:John Fox Has His Stephen Davis Clone

I'd like to say the Carolina Panthers just took the best player available. I'd like to say this pick is a result of Derrick Harvey and Ryan Clady going off the board early. But no, Jonathan Stewart was on their radar all along for one reason -- John ...Broncos Go OL First-Round in Taking Troy’s Clady

The Broncos want to get back to rushing the football in 2008 like an elite team, and their pick in the first round Saturday showed that with OT Ryan Clady from Bosie State. At 6-foot-6, 309 pounds, Clady will be a welcome addition to a line that ...The Good, Bad, and Ugly From the Draft

The Good - Roger Goodell’s decision to speed up the draft. It was nice getting the first round over with in 3.5 hours instead of the 6 hour marathon that we had to endure last year. - Mike Shanahan’s proclamation that Ryan Clady “will start at left tackle the day he comes in” (Denver Post). That’s confidence [...]2008 NFL Draft - Grade The Broncos Two First Picks

Before the draft I expressed my deisre for the Broncos to trade down. I kept hope alive all the way until Roger Goodell said Ryan Clady's name. It isn't that don't like Clady. Just the opposite. On MHR Radio the other night, I called Clady the safest pick for the Broncos if he was there, and by the sounds of Mike Shahahan he thought the same thing. There were ...Shanahan and I Share a Brain - Clady to Start from Day One
Posted 4/27/2008 on BroncoTalk
Great news from Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan - first round choice OT Ryan Clady has already locked up the left tackle position. It’s his to lose. “He’ll start at left offensive tackle the day he comes in,” Mike Shanahan said Saturday. “Pretty simple, wasn’t it?” “The thing that impresses you is his feet,” Shanahan said of Clady, the first-ever Boise State first-round ...Denver Broncos select Ryan Clady, OT

Clady is used to uphill battles. Whether he faces more of a battle trying to win over a town desperate for playmakers in the draft, or in trying to secure a starting spot agains incumbent Tackles Ryan Harris and Erik Pears, remains to be seen. But Denver fans should know, that Oline picks don't come any more exciting than this. Clady has to be the most athletically gifted offensive ...Ryan Clady: From Broncos to Broncos

I’m not sure if I can remember a time when the Broncos drafted the player in the first round that I wanted them to. As my previous article indicated, that streak ended definitely just a few minutes ago. I’m obviously very pleased with another streak starting—Ryan Clady continues to play for a team that wears orange and blue and has a Bronco as their logo. I’ll obviously comment on Clady ...Clady a good fit in Denver

Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson The Broncos choice of Boise state left tackle Ryan Clady makes sense. The team needs a new left tackle in the wake of Matt Lepsis' retirement at the end of the season. Clady is a talented player who'll have the vital job of protecting Jay Cutler's blind side. The decision to draft Clady means that Ryan Harris will likely get the chance to compete with ...Picks 10-15

I love the agressiveness of the Chiefs to move up two spots and secure the offensive lineman they need in Branden Albert, a player who Mel Kiper had them selecting at #5 overall... The Broncos got a steal in Ryan Clady...many projected Clady to be a top 10 pick... Jerod Mayo to New England...hmmm, the guys on ESPN thought it was a good pick...but I have seen Mayo's name as low as mid second ...14. Chicago Bears: Chris Williams, Vanderbilt
Posted 4/26/2008 on FanHouse
If what you're looking for is a guy who can step in and play left tackle immediately, Vanderbilt offensive tackle Chris Williams might be the best prospect in this year's draft. Jake Long and Ryan Clady are generally regarded as better long-term tackle prospects, but Long is more a run blocker than a pass blocker, and Clady has less experience against top-notch competition. The Bears just ...Broncos Select Ryan Clady 12th Overall

The Denver Broncos have made their choice - Ryan Clady , OT, Boise State. I argued yesterday that he was a player worthy of trading up to draft. In the end the Broncos did not need to. He fell to the Broncos at 12, and I couldn’t be happier! Keep up with us in the live blog/thread chat throughout the day!Clady Gone.

Clady is the first football player ever to leave Boise State early. Why would anyone ever leave Boise early? Come to think of it, why would anyone go to Boise? Granted, all I know of Boise is what I see in commercials during Boise State games. The place looks beautiful, a sparkling city surrounded by lush mountains and trout-laden streams, with a balloon always hovering eerily overhead. ...Pick #12 - Denver Broncos - Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State
Posted 4/26/2008 on The Victoria Times
The Broncos draft a Bronco. Seems like a good fit to me. The Broncos time honored system of a strong running game anchored by great offensive line should keep going strong for a while. I make that statement based on the assumption that Clady is good, because I don't know much about him. But hey, he's a big white dude from Boise State, so that sounds about right for a lineman. Remember the great Statue of Liberty play that sealed Boise State's 2007 Fiesta Bowl upset of Oklahoma? Of course you do. But you may not realize that the key block was thrown by left tackle Ryan Clady , whom the Broncos chose with the 12th pick in today's draft. Offensive tackles don't get a lot of attention, but Clady was by far the most talented player on that Boise State team. He's big -- ...First 6 picks

In 2006, the Denver Broncos had a rare opportunity to take a player that could single handedly alter the fate of the franchise. Jay Cutler , the young quarterback out of Vanderbilt and top of the Broncos board, was slipping down the draft. By a lot of pre-draft maneuvering, chance, and a bit of luck, the Broncos were in a prime position to make the move to get their guy. I can just see it now… the draft is falling perfectly into place for the Broncos to select my guy , Ryan Clady . Boston College QB Matt Ryan falls to the Ravens, who are the most likely to take Clady. It’s a straight shot from there through Cincinnati, New Orleans, and Buffalo. We’re home free!
