Steelers Select Bruce Davis
Pittsburgh Sports and Mini Ponies - Pittsburgh Sports Videos, Humor and Crack Analysis. And Ridiculously Small Horses —
In the 3rd Round, Pittsburgh selected Bruce Davis, DE/OLB from UCLA. To be honest, I don't know much about Davis. From what I've heard, he was a DE/linebacker at UCLA, but could play linebacker in the bigs if he gains some weight. The "experts" are saying outside linebacker, but who is the logical heir to Farrior and Foote in the inside? Last season, Davis ...
Steelers Draft Bruce Davis to Replace Huge Void Left by Joey Porter's Mouth
FanHouse —
Filed under: Steelers, NFL Draft, NFL FansLet's consider the similarities: Joey Porter was a college defensive end, Bruce Davis was a college defensive end; Porter moved to outside linebacker in the NFL, Davis will move to outside linebacker in the NFL; Porter was a third-round pick, Davis was drafted in the third round by the Steelers earlier today; Porter is, shall we say, loquacious, Davis, apparently, likes to flap his gums too: Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, that's all Bruce Davis's gotta say. Next up: Debo-ing Levi Jones at a Vegas casino and calling Cam ...

White Warns UCLA: We’re Taking Your Girlfriends
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
Even though their football face-off is still a couple of weeks away, the hatred between USC & UCLA is a year-long affair. Just ask any SoCal alum-slash-current NFL running back. LenDale White USC Trojans ( LenDale, back in happier times behind Reggie& Matt’s shadow ) And KLAA-AM’s “Sports Lodge” did just that. Roger Lodge& Dave Smith had ‘SC alum & Tennessee Titans RB LenDale White on their radio show Thursday morning, chatting about the crosstown collegiate rivalry. To get things rolling, LenDale was told that UCLA alum & Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew had said that he would “not allow” his kids to attend the school known in some ...

LB Next - Steelers Take UCLA Linebacker Davis in Round Three —
Steelers Gab
The Steelers 2008 Draft continued on Sunday, as the team took UCLA outside linebacker Bruce Davis, who is 6-2, 252 pounds and runs a 4.78. Bell will add depth to the linebacker spot, and if he can prove his worth, can earn playing time and possibly a spot in the teams nickel and dime defenses.
Here is Scouts Inc. take on Bell:
Strengths: Quick, anticipates snap counts well and can ...
Steelers' third-round pick is Bruce Davis —
The Steelyard
In the third round the Steelers selected college DE Bruce Davis , UCLA, who projects as an OLB in Pittsburgh's defensive scheme. In Pro Football Weekly 's draft preview Davis' "negatives" outweigh his "positives" and he's summarized as follows: "One-trick pony who worked out well at the Combine and looked athletic enough to bring value as a 3-4 outside linebacker."

The Steelyard
Guest commentary by Nick Beckwith: Third-rounder Bruce Davis (UCLA) was as good a pick as the two on the first day. “All he can do is sack the quarterback.” This is the kind of criticism one likes to hear about a player one’s team selects. Anyway, I am not inclined to question the Steelers’ judgment when it comes to linebackers. Since 1970 there have only been five years when there wasn’t at ...
