Tennessee beats Memphis: Bruce Pearl is quite the ladies man [Video]
Published 2/24/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
In what was a very good game tonight, #2 Tennessee beat #1 Memphis on the road tonight in a close 66-62 game. Chris Lofton played pretty bad the whole night going 2-11 from the floor but he hit 2 field goals with 2 seconds to go to put the game away.
Bruce Pearl being the go getter that he is, took the opportunity of being on the big stage to feel up Erin Andrews. I can’t blame him, I probably would’ve done the same thing. I feel sorry for her though because Bruce was sweating so much that he looked like a glazed donut. ...
Hey Bruce Pearl, Get Your Hands Off My Erin Andrews
Published 2/24/2008 at FanIQ Blog
How many showers do you think Erin Andrews has taken since the end of this game? 4? 5?
As greasy and slimy as he may be, you have to give Bruce Pearl some credit for taking advantage of the situation and a hands on answer to how Memphis was containing Chris Lofton.
Chances are though, he'll be getting a letter from the WWL asking to stop with the hand checking.
Bruce Pearl mans-up on Erin Andrews
Published 2/24/2008 by DCScrap at on 205th magazine: Stuff Guys Like. [Pop Culture For Men]
Last night uberbabe sideline reporter Erin Andrews interviewed Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl at halftime. Bruce took that opportunity to "demonstrate" on Erin Andrews how Memphis was guarding Chris Lofton and in the process made hundreds of red-blooded males wish they had chosen coaching college basketball for their field of work.
UCLA Is Quite Athletic [College Basketball Roundup]
Published 2/24/2008 by Unsilent Majority at Deadspin
Oregon took the court wearing the latest in Nike's experimental uniforms, and for a while the shimmering black-on-black look appeared to work out for the visitors. However their second half lead was quickly erased by the Bruins up-tempo attack. Russell Westbrook appeared to tweak his ankle, but he came right back out and threw down one of the most vicious dunks of the season on some poor unsuspecting Duck. He and Darren Collison combined for 33 points and 8 assists with Kevin Love providing 15 and 11. UCLA outscored Oregon by 13 in the second half on their way to a 75-65 win.

Bruce Pearl Takes His Love For Erin Andrews Slightly Too Far
Published 2/24/2008 by Anthony Hall at MVN Outsider
... ESPN sideline reporter, and suddenly grabbed Andrews:
So not only did Pearl’s squad beat the number one team in the nation, but he got to feel up Erin Andrews — a helluva night for the coach, to say the least. Go ahead and call him sleazy for this move…I prefer to say he was simply being opportunistic. What better way to demonstrate how Memphis was guarding Chris Lofton than hugging an attractive sideline reporter?

Bruce Pearl Feels Up Erin Andrews
Published 2/25/2008 by dawizofodds at The Wizard of Odds
OK, this is a college football blog, but considering Erin Andrews' diminished role on ESPN's college bowl telecasts this past season, we had to bend the rules. Bruce Pearl was involved in perhaps the biggest game of his Tennessee coaching career Saturday night when his No. 2 Volunteers played at No. 1 Memphis. Bless the man. He not only had the common sense during a halftime interview of a tense game to grab a handful of Andrews, his team ended up winning the damn the game. Part of the beauty is that you can see it coming, with Pearl almost giddy seconds before grabbing Andrews. One ...

BRUCE PEARL GROPED ERIN ANDREWS
Published 2/25/2008 at With Leather
This video made the rounds this weekend while I was busy fine-tuning my Oscar ballot (The Bourne Utimatum for sound editing AND sound mixing! HOLLA!), and it's a pretty good one. Going into halftime of Saturday night's #1 versus #2 showdown between Memphis and Tennessee, ESPN sideline reporter/sports nerd fantasy Erin Andrews asked Vols coach/sweatiest man alive Bruce Pearl how Memphis was containing Chris Lofton. Pearl answered with a demonstration. Apparently the Tigers were grabbing Lofton's ass with both hands and rubbing their erect penises on his leg. ...
Memphis and Tennessee: Almost as entertaining as Bruce Pearl’s wandering hands
Published 2/25/2008 by PostmanE at The Postmen // A Sports Blog // Chicago, IL.
In what was a pretty slow sports weekend — hey, look, the Bulls are still bad at basketball! — there was one clear highlight: Saturday night’s Memphis-Tennessee game. It wasn’t the most well-played game of the weekend, or even the fastest, unless you want to credit both teams’ defenses for slowing down the pace and forcing so many misses. It was, definitely, the most entertaining. If only Memphis wasn’t a terrible shooting team, they would likely have won. And if only Dick Vitale didn’t yell so much, he wouldn’t be so annoying. These ...
Erin Andrews Doesn't Appear To Like Sweaty Manhandling
Published 2/25/2008 by J Money at Boiled Sports
Well, that sucks. Because those are two words I usually associate with Ms. Andrews in my fantasies. I mean, if I were to have fantasies about her. You know what I'm saying. Anyway, at halftime of the severely overhyped Memphis-Tennessee game on Saturday night, Erin caught up with Bruce Pearl and he clearly made her a tad uncomfortable. This isn't Namath-Kolber territory but it's kind of funny all the same. Not that I can really blame Bruce. We've all made up a reason to rub against a hot girl at one time or another in our lives. In high school, describing what somebody else did... in the office, demonstrating what ...
ESPN Now To Issue Pepper Spray To All TV Correspondents [Misdemeanor Groping]
Published 2/25/2008 by Rick at Deadspin
This was mentioned on Sunday, but was kind of buried ... and when Bruce Pearl paws the lovely Erin Andrews on national television, the world needs to know. Too bad that Ms. Andrews didn't read the Tennessee Athletic Handbook; it clearly states that when dealing with Bruce Pearl a microphone can also be used as a club.
Apparently having the No. 1 team in the nation comes with all kinds of perks. I shudder to think what will happen if Tennessee wins a national championship. Pearl has come a long way since he merely groped women while wearing the BC Eagle costume.

Never Enough Bruce Pearl
Published 2/26/2008 by Dave at Sports Blog - football, basketball, and baseball
I always hear people say they dislike Bruce Pearl, but c’mon: How many other D-I coaches do you know that would pull this kind of stunt at halftime? Whether Chris Lofton was being grabbed or not, it seems to be a good enough excuse to cop a cheap feel on Ms. Andrews.

Because the best way to feign actual knowledge on a subject is an accurate prediction, I introduce The Picks. Every weekday, Monday-Thursday (hopefully) I will pick the televised games of the night, against the spread of course, and follow the results to see if I actually know something about basketball. The results should be both entertaining (for readers) and soul-crushing (for me). And if I'm wrong, I'll just do what all the TV "experts" do: never bring it up again and avoid all accountability. And since I won't be betting actual money (that often), I win every time! I'll also be occasionally picking against one of my ...

Nightly Q: Who Will Bruce Pearl Molest Tonight?
Published 2/26/2008 at FanIQ Blog
There is precious little going on tonight, but at least it's good. Ohio State could desperately use a win to keep itself afloat for an NCAA bid while Indiana is playing minus Kelvin Sampson. Well, he's probably texting them at halftime, but he's not on the court with them.
Then we get to see the new #1 team in the land take on a very talented Vanderbilt team. That one, folks, is definitely worth watching tonight. Just to see if Bruce Pearl molests Erin Andrews again.

Is there anything better than ESPN signing Bob Knight to be part of their NCAA tournament coverage ? No, no there isn't. You might remember that ESPN is where Coach Knight went for his one interview after getting fired from Indiana. It didn't go to well, as he wound up getting into a pissing match with interviewer Jeremy Schaap and storming off the set. There's really no end to the things that ESPN could have Coach Knight do. For example, have him replace Erin Andrews courtside during interviews for conference tournament week and have him demand to get felt up by Bruce Pearl . Or, put him on the other side of those NCAA tournament press ...

BRUCE PEARL TEXTED ERIN ANDREWS
Published 3/5/2008 at With Leather
Most of us remember seeing the clip of Tennessee basketball coach Bruce Pearl getting inappropriate with ESPN's Erin Andrews. And it was inappropriate: I don't think he would have done that with Chris Spielman, plus I'm pretty sure that he was a little too busy in the first half to buy her dinner. Hey, I'm not like a prude or anything, but don't go halfway on it. If you're going to put your hands on somebody like that, you better get your fucking money's worth. Anyway, the immaculate and always-timely Awful Announcing shares that Pearl actually called Andrews and sent her a text after that game to "apologize" for ...

A Few Things To Read When You Bring Your Laptop Into The Bathroom

Here are a couple things I read today because there is little else to report.
From RealFootball365.com, Os Davis (Os?) wrote this piece on what the Buccaneers have done this season using a children's nursery rhyme theme to deliver the repeated line "The House that Chucky Built". And it's... it's just awful.
Eugene Wilson's the guy who picks the pass behind the pressure from Teddy Lehman, who's there to back the line with Cato June, the name on the defensive side, which supports the 'O', including Askew, who will see some runs behind ...

I'm hopelessly out of the money on both of my brackets uh, our brackets, and so I'm on a desperate search for cover bets to make back the money quick.
At the moment I'm considering the over/under on the length of time it takes Bobby Knight to choke the living shit out of of one his new ESPN "colleagues". Now I'm confident that fellow coaches Digger Phelps and Dicky V. are safe. He'd never go postal on those guys. Even Jay Bilas appears safe, but only by the grace of Knight's respect for Coach K.
Oh please God, if you could possibly arrange it, even though I think Rece Davis is pushing ...

While the NBA Finals have been moderately entertaining, there has been one gigantic hole in ABC's coverage. Of course I'm referring to Jeff Van Gundy's trap - that balding moron just refuses to shut the hell up! But really the thing that's been missing from the NBA Finals is the gorgeous, informative and all around perfect 10 that is Erin Andrews. Now I know she doesn't do NBA games, but this is the biggest basketball series in years, you think ABC and ESPN would have pulled out her the big guns. We were wondering what kind of decision making went into the process. Obviously they had to have had a meeting ...
