The Day a Short, Spectacles-Wearing CEO Defeated Michael Jordan in a 1-on-1 Game to Three
The Big Lead —
With sweet end-of-the-video mockery from Damon Wayans. Video claims to be from 2003, but it seems way older than that. (NESW Sports)
Video: CEO John Rogers beats Jordan one-on-one, circa 2003
Ball Don't Lie —
Back in February, SI's Chris Ballad wrote a story about a post-Wizards era Michael Jordan that received a lot of attention. As the story went, some mutual fund CEO named John Rogers Jr. had beaten Jordan in a game of one-on-one at the legend's high-end "Flight School" camp in Las Vegas. According to Ballad, there were one-handed runners and flip-shots and even Damon Wayans. It was quite the tale. And today, thanks to The Wall Street Journal, we finally have video footage. That lefty lay-in at the end to win it was impressive. Nice English, John. Via NESW Sports, your #1 ...
Jordan 2 - Rogers 3
With Malice - An LA Lakers blog, news and opinions —
Legend has it that one time at his famous flight school, Michael Jordan got taken to class by a CEO. It’s one of those stories that’s cute, but evokes a “Yeah, suuuuure.” response.
Well, from the Wall Street Journal via BDL, here it is:
And thanks to Henry Abbott, who ...
NBA ballers should probably stop letting people record them losing to civilians

Every blog and their Mom will link to this, and should. Revealed (to me) by Skeets at BDL, the long-rumored to exist video of Jordan getting beat at a game of 1 on 1 by some random executive attending his camp for grown-ups: I'll spare you my thoughts on grown men paying a ton of money to be pretend buddies with pro-athletes for the moment. This video is great. I like to imagine one of Jordan's kids showing him this on youtube. Knowing what we do about Jordan's competitive streak, I see him then angrily calling up John Rogers and demanding a rematch. Pretty awesome. There has ...

Daniel Joyce hit the game winner in the Gong tonight. - It has been reported that Daniel Joyce has landed the knock out three as the Gold Coast Blaze (2-12) snuck by the Wollongong Hawks (6-6), 111-110. The Blaze trailed for the majority of the game before Shane Heal, Pero Cameron and finally Joyce hit from long range to get the Blaze their first road win for the season. Once the game was over Joyce senior gave everyone any earful who cared to get involved. Beside sections of the crowd, Glen Saville and Eric Cooks were a few victims ...

CEO shoots down Air Jordan
Full-Court Press —
OK, so this video is not exactly about the Detroit Pistons. It's about Michael Jordan. Which is, I guess, in a roundabout way ... if you stretch things a bit, kind of Pistons-related. (He learned how to NBA titles against them, right?!) Regardless, anytime you can post a video of some schlub ...
Wall Street CEO John Rogers defeats Jordan in 1 on 1.
yoonewverse —
This was supposedly back in 2003 and MJ was going back and forth in some charity competition against Wall Street CEO's and ran through the gauntlet until he ran into John Rogers. Some dude with googles who was driving the lane on him like a young Stephon Marbury. Jordan went down for the first time in the only recorded 1 on 1 defeat of his career. ...
Video: Mutal Fund CEO Beats Michael Jordan In One-On-One Game
MOUTHPIECE Blog // A Chicago-Addled Sports Blog —
This video is excruciatingly long at 3:37 — my attention span runs dry at about 40 seconds — but it was rather fantastic. Some CEO dude named John Rogers Jr. beats Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one at Jordan’s “Flight School” basketball camp in 2003. As Ball Don’t Lie attests, this was a story bandied about in the media circles, but the video never surfaced till yesterday.
In all fairness, Jordan could have worked this dude over — he played a bit lax and the game was only to 3. But hey, John Rogers, I tip my cap to you. ...
This Story Has Been Getting John Rogers Laid Every Night For 5 Years
The Howeva Files —
That rumored video of a CEO beating Jordan in a 1-on-1 game at Jordan's Flight School has finally made it to the web thanks to the Wall Street Journal. CEO or not, this guy has carte blanche anywhere he goes now and if anyone ever gives him crap he can just say, "I beat MJ so F you!"
Michael Jordan Loses To CEO John Rogers At Jordan's Flight School Fantasy Camp
FanIQ Blog —
See this man to your right here? He once beat Michael Jordan in a pickup basketball game. He also likely never got a date in high school.
Anyway, his name is John Rogers and he's the CEO of some mutual fund, which means he's probably broke now. But anyway, there was a story that leaked in February of this year that Rogers had apparently beaten MJ in a game of one-on-one back in 2003 at Jordan's fantasy camp known as "Flight School."
Yes, this would be one of those super annoying fantasy camps where 45-year-old rich jackasses get the chance to live their dreams by shooting hoops with a pro athlete for the low, low cost ...

NESW Sports, Sports Videos —
NESW Sports, Videos of the year. We focus on Sports Videos. I love sports, and I love sports vids. When I was a kid I would sometimes watch the same episode of Sports Center 2 times in a row. ( That was back when they just replayed the episodes in the morning. ) I also love, and do not hate me for this, AFV. America’s Funniest Home Videos just makes me laugh. I think it is the reactions that people make to what is happening. It is not fake or canned laughter like a sitcom. I like to think that this blog is a mixture of Sports Center and AFV. Anyways, after 9 months of putting my ...

Ball Don't Lie —
I've been offline this week — logging on only sporadically to check my e-mail, read Dwyer's free-agent insight and see whether my embarrassing "Chop Suey!" karaoke performance has found its way onto YouTube yet — but even still it's been impossible to avoid this LBJ Dunk-Gate drama. (Is that what we're calling it? How about "We Are All Non-Witnesses"?) The back story, courtesy of Chris Chase at The Dagger: "Xavier sophomore Jordan Crawford dunked on LeBron James during a pick-up game at a basketball camp, Nike confiscated all video evidence of the posterization and debate ensued ...

Because, despite so much of what you read about it, it’s a complicated issue, and if we in Cleveland don’t make sure it’s completely covered, who will? So, consider the latest trending “analysis” of this issue, which involves an allegedly similar incident in which Michael Jordan played a part, and goes something like the following, from J.E. Skeets at Yahoo! Sports: ...
