I guess it's no secret that I've been known to wager on a Sporting Event or two. I've won and lost, but I can't even imagine second guessing myself to the tune of $400,000. Via The 700 Level... I love how Charles Barkley came out last year saying he bet too much at Casinos and on Sports, and said he was going to slow down. $400K? That's just crazy. My new motto: More Sir Charles, All the Time. Barkley appeared on Friday night's Late Show with David Letterman and was his typical humorous self. They touched on many topics including Charles' weight issues, gambling issues, the Shaq trade, his support of Barrack Obama, and his opinions on Paul Shaffer's Craig Sager-esque suit. Some choice lines: "What the hell's the point ...Charles 'The Cobra' Barkley Shoots Pool

I agree with Charles Barkley that Kevin Durant has to get better. And I really like Brandon Roy. He's bigger and more athletic than I realized. Also the fact that Adam Morrison and Shelden Williams were drafted before Roy will be laughable for years to come. Still, if you could only take one guy from tonight's game it would have to be Durant. I know he could shoot better and play more ...Barkley takes on the right.

In an interesting mix of crosspromotion, CNN sent anchor Wolf Blitzer to New Orleans for the NBA All Star Game. During The Situation Room, Blitzer interviewed TNT NBA analyst Charles Barkley -- who did not mince his words when discussing his distaste with the Republican party. At one point, Barkley told Blitzer "[e]very time I hear the word 'conservative,' it makes me sick to my stomach, becauseCharles Barkley 'Promises' to Run for Alabama Governor in 2014

Charles Barkley once said: "I don't believe professional athletes should be role models, I believe parents should be role models." When Charles Barkley famously said in a Nike commercial that he's not a role model , I could at least understand why the question would be asked: Barkley was, at the time, one of the five most popular basketball players in the country, and popular basketball players are often viewed as role models. Charles Barkley is fun because he says things publicly -- like the fact that h e lost $ 400k 100k on the Patriots in the Super Bowl -- that sometimes make you question whether or not there is a filter between his brain and mouth.
