VIDEO: CHARLIE WEIS HURTS KNEE, TEARS ACL
The World of Isaac —
Charlie Weis, Gets Hit, Torn ACL and MCL, Video
NESW Sports, Sports Videos —
Charlie Weis, Gets Hit, Torn ACL and MCL, Video. I am not the biggest/ not even close to the biggest Notre Dame fan, but I do not like to see people in pain. This must have hurt. Check out the vid. Charlie Weis said in an interview after the game that he knew it was a blown knee as soon as it happened.

Video: Charlie Weis Injures Knee, Hit on Sideline by His Player
Larry Brown Sports —
Last weekend, it was Tom Brady who incurred a season-ending injury, after being hit in the knee by Bernard Pollard. Apparently feeling that he did not want Tom Brady to be left out, Charlie Weis was hit on the back of the leg by one of his players who got pushed to the sideline by a Michigan player. Weis crumbled like the Mets in September, falling with his knee bent in an awkward position. Early diagnosis say it’s a torn ACL and MCL and that Weis is done for the season. OK, maybe not done for the season, but he’s scheduled to have surgery some time this week. ...
Saturday Rewind: What We Learned
The Redshirt Señior —
Five lessons from a Saturday where Ohio State made certain nobody would confuse it with a national championship contender, obese coach Charlie Weis put a world-wide scare into crutches and Auburn beat Mississippi State 3-2 in the SEC baseball .. no wait, that was a football score? 1. The Buckeyes showed no Beanie was no excuse. Just like Jim Tressel said, Chris "Beanie" Wells and his ailing big toe were unavailable for USC, with the All-America running back not even wearing pads. The running game, of course, suffered mightily without Beanie as OSU totaled 71 yards on 34 ...
EA Sports gets another glitch for its marketing dept
The Sports Culture —
For those who didn’t feel the ground tremble this afternoon, Charlie Weis was t-boned on the sidelines during the Michigan-Notre Dame game. Sure it’s always funny when fat people fall, but what was found on the internet recently in leu of The Great Fall is just creepy.
Did EA Sports tap into a Charlie Weis voodoo doll video game glitch beforehand? Added in 2007, this YouTube video shows a glitch of Charlie Weis falling in NCAA Football.
Good find, NESW Sports.
Charlie Weis Tears Two Ligaments in Knee While Simply Standing Around [College Football]
Deadspin —
Charlie Weis got Theismen'd yesterday during the Notre Dame v. Michigan game. Did the fact that he was standing on the sidelines and not actually on the field make the rotund coach feel any more embarrassed? Heck no! After the game, Weis found out he tore two ligaments in his knee and he seemed rather giddy about it, "MCL and ACL," ... "How do you like that? I feel like an athlete ...... for the first time in my life." Video of the sideline mauling below: One of Weis' own players was pushed into him on a punt and contorts Charlie's leg/knee in a way it simply should not go. Fat guys will do anything to be just like ...

Each Sunday during college football season, Spencer Hall offers a
letter-by-letter analysis of Saturday’s college football games.
A is for Again. They had time of possession, they had new formations, they had a freshly foaled Vince Young clone in the backfield ... and they still got obliterated. The real shame coming out of the Ohio State/USC game falls on the pollsters, the same ones who have consistently overvalued this Ohio State team for two and a half years running.
The syndrome has repeated patterns: the defensive coaching staff gets outcoached; the offense first loses the ...
Quick hits from Weis' Presser
Irish Insights | Journal Gazette —
Published: September 14, 2008 8:50 p.m. Quick hits from Weis' Presser A little bit late on this -- computer issues plus the Jets-Patriots game slowed us down -- but here are your quick need-to-know hits from Charlie Weis' Sunday media chat. Also, on the right, you'll see the video of John Ryan running into Weis. WARNING: It is kind of graphic. Not for the faint. Charlie Weis’ Knee Not Made For Football Sidelines
MOUTHPIECE Blog // A Chicago-Addled Sports Blog —
As we continue catching up with all of the crazy things that happened over the weekend, I’d be remiss if I didn’t post this hellish video from Saturday. I like to make fun of Charlie Weis a lot. He has always struck me as pompous, self-mythologizing, and overrated. Also, he coaches for Notre Dame, which inherently makes him worth disliking.
But there’s no real good way to make fun of Charlie Weis’s knee meeting a football player’s shoulder, and subsequently snapping like a toothpick:
“Hey coach, you might want to turn around ...
WATCH THE FAT MAN’S LEG SNAP
With Leather —
Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis tore ligaments in his left knee during Saturday’s game against Michigan when Irish defensive end Jon Ryan was shoved out of bounds on a punt return. Weis will forego surgery for now; in the meantime he will use a cane and continue fielding calls from his former players.
“Tommy [Brady] gave me some advice from firsthand experience,” Weis said. “He told me, for about a week, you’ll be struggling. After that, it gets better.”
Ummm… Brady’s knee injury ...
College Football Roundup: Charlie Weis Is Broken [College]
Deadspin —
After a week of piddling interest, college football returned with a vengeance. Before I get rolling with 11 observations on the weekend that was, let me take this opportunity to get this before the jump. Our fearless editor is going to have a full-report from OSU-USC, but let's just say it now, can we start an online petition that threatens pollsters with having their houses burned down if Ohio State somehow manages to finish the regular season without losing again and gets into the BCS Title game for a third consecutive year? 9 of the top 11 teams in this week's AP poll are from either the SEC (five) or the Big 12 (four). Each ...
Karma is Destroying the ACLs of Anyone Associated With Spygate
The Big Lead —
First Brady. Now Charlie Weis. Who’s next? Belichick lives in fear. Solid win for the Irish, just as we predicted. Briefly looking ahead to this weekend, it’s all about the SEC: LSU travels to Auburn (which beat Mississippi State 3-2 last week), and Florida visits Tennessee. Georgia visits Arizona State, which just lost to UNLV, but was clearly looking ahead.
"The Hell With Our Knees"
DETROIT4LYFE —
Charlie Weis was in the news a lot this past week leading up to the Michigan/Notre Dame game because of comments he made at a press conference before the Blue and Gold scrimmage last spring. Weis made a speech to fans and claimed the Wolverines would make excuses about their new coaching regime under Rich Rodriguez. (So what? It's true). Weis said, "I've always been one to never make excuses and not go about airing it....listen to Michigan have all their excuses as they come running in and saying how they have a new coaching staff and there's changes. To hell with Michigan!" Let's ...

I have criticized much about our proud program and even agreed with you that we are a mid level D-1 team at best in past posts...But you sir, the bastion of honest and balanced analysis take exception to what we have said or done to soil the honor that belongs to touch down ...

Notre Dame And Charlie Weis Deserve Each Other More Than Ever
Deuce of Davenport | Sports News, Commentary, Humor, Videos —
Don't act like a small (or large) part of you didn't smile or nod with approval when Charlie Weis was dropped like a sack of potatoes during the Michigan-Notre Dame game. Let's relive one of the few Michigan highlights from their wonderfully expensive failure of a season. ...
Headlinin': Notre Dame counts down to its celebration of FAIL; Alabama not-so-subtly predicts it
Dr. Saturday —
• I hope that's in sync with Greenwich Mean Time. What you see above is indeed Notre Dame's official countdown to kickoff in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve. In Los Angeles, Trojan beat writer/blogger Scott Wolf suggests Irish fans would be more interested in a countdown to Charlie Weis' knee surgeries. Yes, that's plural: Weis only tore his left MCL during that gruesome play against Michigan, but found out last week he also had damage to the right knee that will require surgery before doctors go into the left one. Double knee surgeries for a man who goes well over 300 ...

Fuck you
It’s over.
The suffering, torturous season for the New England Patriots has ended mercifully.

But in the end, Karma gave one final punch-in-the-gut ...
Notre Dame week: Mandatory Charlie Weis Video #1
The Diag —
I got to thinking about last year's game, and this video is completely necessary in every way. I'm sure we'll be seeing it pop up again in the Preview on Friday (just a hunch). Oh, Charlie. The frenzy begins: That ranks with some of the most intense sports injuries ever. It just happens to be Charlie Weis, and thus deserving of preview hype for this weekend. Some other ACL injuries you ask? I suppose I can indulge you. And the worst I have ever seen:

Herm's Perm: Overpaid to Underperform —
USC's Senior Tailback Stafon Johnson dropped the bench press bar, which probably weighed no less than a "Biggest Loser" contestant, on his FUCKING NECK this morning. This reportedly (and understandably) led to Johnson spitting up blood and getting a trip to the hospital. In the unlikely chance that this injury ruins his football career, Johnson will surely have a bright future selling neck-strengthening equipment. In honor of Stafon's trooper-ness, here are some other gruesome sports injuries. Soccer has been excluded because players flop so often that any apparent injury, no matter how legitimate it appears, has lost all ...
On his way out, Weis is slightly sympathetic, slightly more bitter about the fat jokes
Dr. Saturday —
Charlie Weis has never been a particularly popular figure at Notre Dame, even when the Irish were winning in his first two seasons, and John Walters' all-access, "Dead Coach Walking" tour for AOL FanHouse -- while never condescending to suggest Weis may not be fired after Saturday's trip to Stanford -- tugs openly on the heartstrings wherever possible. It's not hard to sympathize: Weis shows up for work hours before sun-up every day, staying well into the night; he's an obsessive recruiter; he totally eschews camera-friendly artifice; he actually lost a chunk of his knee in last year's ugly sideline collision ...
Weis Fired
The Life of a Sportsaholic —
Wait, Charlie Weis was on the hot seat at Notre Dame? Did he deserve to get fired? Is Notre Dame better without him? Did he see this coming? Yes to all. The Weis era is officially over, even though it was really over a few weeks ago with the loss to UConn. Hey Notre Dame, give Brian Kelly of Cincy a call and I bet he will come down for an interview as soon as his Bearcats beat Pitt and win the Big East championship this weekend. Just get him a nice hotel room and some room service and he will be your next head coach. Hopefully he will win more than 6 games because the Notre Dame fan ...
