Only at USC. Pete Carroll plays a prank on defensive end Everson Griffen, who is said to have "physically abused a freshman" and is threatened with an arrest Tuesday during a team meeting. The freshman turns out to be offensive lineman Matt Meyer, who was flattened in practice by Griffen.

Depending on who you listen to, the competition for quarterback is either looking more even or not even at all. According to the LA Times, both Sanchez and Mustain were looking good yesterday. According to the Daily News, the matter is demonstrably settled because Mustain was working out with the second unit. The Wizard of Odds found this rather hilarious video on Friday, but I sort of missed it. This is Pete Carroll pulling an April Fools Day prank on USC D-end Everson Griffen, who's picked up by police for "physically attacking a freshman." USC head football coach is a prankster. He pulled a April Fools joke on defensive end Everson Griffen and this past Sunday in camp he decided to play one on his whole team. Carroll says that defensive end Kyle Moore was caught by police in an internet piracy ring, but in the end tells his team in lieu of practice the team will go bowling instead.
