THE NEW-AND-IMPROVED NEWS
Mondesi's House —
Welcome to the new and improved version of The News. That's right, I'm reverting back to the old title to this feature named after Mike Tomlin's player-embarrassing method of game review. Presented for your consideration are 38 links complete with futile attempts at comedy, fused with a few interesting pics. Hopefully this will do a good job of ...
Tales of the Tape: Atlanta Thrashers 1/6/09, Ruslan Fedotenko vs. Colby Armstrong
PensBurgh —
Being as this is a site for the Penguins, I customarily put the Penguins' rep in a fight first in the headline as well as the poll. I have to say that it felt a little odd typing "vs. Colby Armstrong." Not a big one, but check it out anyway.
It started off normally, with Fedotenko missing with the left hand, but as Colby moved in, Fedotenko got a hold of his right arm and jacked him in the face with his own right, sending him down to the ice. Watch that a couple times - it's pretty sick. Colby quickly regained his composure, and as Fedotenko came down on him ...
A Bizarre Night in the NHL - One-Punch Fights, Blood and Biting
Movable Type System Activity —
You're already seen it on The Pensblog, Empty Netters and Puck Daddy, and probably other places, but it was definitely a bizarre night in the NHL.
First we'll start with Ruslan Fedotenko's one-punch fight against Colby Armstrong:
The strangest part isn't that the fight was only one punch long, or that Ruslan Fedotenko dominated a fight, but that Fedotenko apparently injured or even broke his hand on Colby's giant nose.
But it got much weirder last night... ...

Anatomy of Flames vs. Sharks Jan.6, 2009 [The New NHL] Two One Punch KOs, A Finger Biting, An Odd Roughing Minor and a Partridge in Pear Tree [The New NHL] It was a weird night in the NHL last night, Colby Armstrong did a great job of breaking Ruslan Fedotenko’s hand with his face , Matt Walker destroyed Ed Jovanoski with a two-punch-combo, the only problem being that Jovanoski’s hands were on his stick at the time and Ottawa Senators super-pest Jarko Ruutu cannot confirm or deny the fact that he bit Andrew Peter’s finger during a scrum . Also, t he Flames ...

Empty Netters —
For Penguins fans, the 2008-09 season was quite unlike anything they've ever seen. There were sicking lows and highs that future teams will never hope to outdo. It was a dazzling roller coaster that took place over parts of nine months.
This is a game-by-game look at all 106 contests the Penguins suited up for this season.

Mellon Arena Memories - Ruslan Fedotenko - 10-19-09
Empty Netters —
"Mellon Arena Memories" is a semi-regular feature that will appear
in this forum from time to time during the remainder of the Penguins'
season. We will attempt to interview several individuals from inside
and outside the world of hockey about the arena which has served as the
Penguins' home facility since the franchise's inception. Today's
subject is Ruslan Fedotenko.
Fedotenko is currently a left wing who plays on the Penguins' second line. He joined the Penguins in the 2008 offseason and was a member of last season's Stanley Cup championship squad. He has played 73 games in a Penguins uniform and has scored 43 points (17 goals, ...
