Josh Shipp Hits Ridiculous (and Illegal?) Over the Backboard Shot for Another UCLA Comeback Victory
FanIQ Blog — Karma apparently had a change of mind in the final 31 seconds of California's upset bid over UCLA. Surely I thought the Bruins were going to be handed a loss after the refs handed them a victory Thursday night. Not so much. Down most of the game, trailing by 4 with 31 seconds left, Kevin Love proceeded to hit a flailing three-pointer. Then Cal turned the subsequent inbounds pass over and the final two-point ridiculousness courtesy of Josh Shipp can be seen above. Is that even legal? On UCLA's home court this week apparently anything is. UCLA 81, California 80

Bruins won yesterday with some major home-cookin'
Guyism » celebs — Okay, check me on this because I could be wrong, but isn't the shot that won the UCLA Bruins the game yesterday illegal? See for yourself... Unless the rules are different in college than they are in the pros, it shouldn't have. Take a look at this shot Larry Bird made back in the day. It was deemed against the rules and didn't count, so what's the difference? Help me out here.

Irresponsible, definedMile High Ramblings
One of our buddies, a big SoCal hater (UCLA, USC, Dodgers, etc.) sent an email to LA Times writer Bill Dwyre after Dwyre's piece in this morning's Times regarding last night's UCLA/Stanford game included no mention of the crazy foul call against the Cardinal. I'm pretty sure Stapes copy and pasted both his email and Dwyre's response, so the typos are legit. From: Stapes Sent: Fri 3/7/2008 7:19
