Don't mind the video, just listen to the song. Now I know where Chocolate Rain came from. Tay Zonday, you have some explaining to do!
Watch: Darryl & Run DMC Rap
MetsBlog.com —
I am upset with myself for not having known this existed until now, but a reader sent in this video of “Chocolate Strawberry”; a rap song featuring Darryl Strawberry and Run DMC.
The video is lacking, but the lyrics don’t disappoint.
If interested, you can read the lyrics here.

The #1 Source for New England Sports Opinions and Propaganda... —
On February 20th, 1992, the Simpsons episode Homer at the Bat first aired. It featured 9 Major League stars as ringers on Mister Burns' softball team. The lineup: C Mike Scioscia 1B Don Mattingly 2B Steve Sax 3B Wade Boggs SS Ozzie Smith LF Jose Canseco CF Ken Griffey Jr. RF Daryl Strawberry P Roger Clemens Looking at this lineup, there is 1 player still active in the Majors, 2 have moved on to coaching, 2 have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, 6 played for the Yankees, 2 are known cheaters, and 1 is a cokehead. Mike Scioscia is one of the most respected managers in baseball, if a bit overrated. The Angels ...

eBay is full of gems, particularly when it comes to sports-related items. David Arnott brings you the best ones.
There was a time when Darryl Strawberry owned New York. The kid from inner city Los Angeles had just led the Mets to the 1986 World Series championship, he and his childhood buddy, Eric Davis, were bound for the Hall of Fame, and he could do anything he wanted with virtually no repercussions. Strawberry has a book coming out in April which should do nothing to dispel the late-80s Mets' reputation for wildness, but you don't need to read the book to see evidence that the Straw felt invincible. Go buy his rap LP, Chocolate ...

Thanks to Jason for issuing such a warm invitation to Varsity Letters (Thursday night, 8 PM, details and directions here) as well as for offering a relatively objective review. Thanks to all, really, who have made these first few weeks as a published Mets author so inviting. Your support is as uplifting as it is touching.
Especially from one corner I wasn't expecting.
Thanks to the book's publication, I find myself being taken more seriously by some people who weren't all that interested in what I had to say before. I won't mention any names, but I think it's fair to say that a certain organization in Queens suddenly noticed someone ...
Sweet Caroline rears it’s ugly head
The 'Ropolitans | NY Mets Baseball Blog —
According to Subway Squaker Lisa Swan, the Mets have brought back “Sweet Caroline” to be the sing-a-long song in the 8th inning. Oh, wonderful. The Mets seemed to realize that “Sweet Caroline” has already been claimed by another team, the Boston Red Sox. They tried to find their own identity, and allowed fans to vote for a handful of songs (or write their own in) to be chosen for the new 8th inning song last year. That led to the infamous “Rick Roll-ing.” The Mets should stick to “Meet The Mets!” or some mix of their past anthems, both good and bad. Where is “Let’s Go Mets Go!,” ...
