Robert Horry: The more things change, the more they don't. Around this time last year, Cheap Shot Rob thugged Steve Nash and set off a chain of events that will haunt the Phoenix Suns franchise forever. Now, did Horry know that Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw were going to jump off the Suns bench to see what happened to their fallen teammate? Of course not. But Horry did know that he was delivering a much-harder-than-necessary foul after the outcome of the game had already been decided. The only point of taking Nash out at that moment was, well, taking Nash out. It was the ...
Did Robert Horry Add to His ‘Cheap Shot Artist’ Legend?

The Spurs disposed of the Hornets in a do-or-die Game Six last night, but the major story out of that game was Robert Horry forcing David West to leave the game in the fourth quarter, after the Hornets forward aggravated a back injury.
There is much debate as to whether or not Horry’s blow to West’s creaky back was a clean basketball play, or if it was a standard-issue Robert Horry Cheap Shot.
“I’m not real OK with it,” Hornets head coach Bryon Scott said. “But if I didn’t know Robert on a personal level, I’d say that was a dirty shot. Yeah, if I didn’t know him the way I know ...
Robert Horry's hard foul on David West
Published 5/16/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
It's the talk of Water Cooler town this morning: Robert Horry's dubious shot/pick to David West's hurting back. There's much debate as to whether or not Horry's hit was a fair, clean play, or if it was a malicious Big Shot Bob cheap shot, so let's go to the replay: This is a tough one to call, but after some deliberation, I've got to side with Ron Hitley at Hornets 24/7 — Horry wasn't intentionally trying to injure West. If you look, Horry is already setting the pick before West jumps back into him while leaping for the pass. Did Horry throw ...

Can anyone win on the road?
Utah will host the Lakers, and Cleveland Boston. Honestly? I have no idea. Sooner or later one of these teams will win a road game, it might be tomorrow… or it might not.
It’s unlikely to be Boston. Boston have struggled famously during these playoffs, and they are yet to win a playoff ...

May 16th, 2008 at 11:27 am Taj says: Robert Horry is a GOON!! There was no reason for him to play David West like that! Smart play, but a lil on the cheap side, a la the Steve Nash body check! The Spurs are Frustrating, Floppy

Watching game six of the Spurs-Hornets series last night, I felt all the emotions of hatred towards San Antonio that stirred in me last season when they knocked out the Suns via a combination of a Robert Whore-y cheap shot on Steve Nash and some irrational black and white law enforcement on the part of League officials. It’s maddening to the see the Spurs flopping to draw offensive fouls, and then complaining vehemently when calls don’t go their way. What a bunch of cunts. ...
Horry's Hit on West: Not Dirty

Here's the video clip that has NBA fans all a-buzz this morning (no pun intended), the one where Robert Horry supposedly intentionally takes out David West. You can tell where I stand from the headline, and for my reasoning, check out the more detailed post I did at FanHouse. ...
Robert Horry Sets A Mean Back Pick
Published 5/16/2008 by Chris at Intentional Foul
Question: was this a hard pick, set to free an attacking Manu Ginobili or was this a dirty play by Big Shot Bob? Another question: would this even be a discussion point if Horry wasn’t involved?
It looks like a smart play from here and if that was Tim Duncan setting the pick instead of Robert Horry, I don’t think we are hearing any outcry about “dirty plays.”
Maybe I’m wrong.
Whatever the case, it looks like the almost four-day break the Hornets and Spurs get before Game 7 will benefit the back of David West, no matter how ...

Playoff Props: Dirty or clean Horry? Plus, more "What ifs" for Bucks fans
Published 5/19/2008 by J.D. Mo at The Bob Boozer Jinx
I'm finally ready to say it: This is not the Spurs year.
I've avoided blogging about the Spurs-Hornets series, which has come down to Game 7 in "the hive" in New Orleans tonight, because every year that I count the Spurs out, they manage to count themselves in. Pass on props to say, Manu Ginobli's magicianship or Tim Duncan's fundamental genius in the post, and they stumble. Talk up Bruce Bowen's defense and he fouls out.
I may be jinxing the Hornets, but I like the chances of Chris Paul and the Hornets closing out the Spurs, if only because Paul and the Hornets have been great at home (like all of the teams still ...

Remember the last time I tried to write something about the NBA Hall of Fame? Of course you don't, and I'm thankful for that fact. It was a disaster of Hindenbergesque proportions, specifically because I revealed the fact that I didn't know there is just one all-encompassing HOF for basketball (rather than an NBA one, an NCAA one, a Harlem Globetrotters one, etc.). You'd think that after that I would have learned my lesson to not write about this subject. And, as the cliche goes, you would have thought wrong. J.A. Adande, step up to the dummy podium. There Will Never Be Another Player Quite Like ...
