Stephen Curry Highlights NCAA Tournament's First Weekend
Published 3/24/2008 at FanIQ Blog
And exhale ... We might have gotten off to a slow start on Thursday, but the Friday upsets, Saturday's overtime thriller, and that 45 minute stretch Sunday afternoon where three games were all within three points certainly made up for it. A breather is greatly needed. Star Even without Western Kentucky and Villanova, Stephen Curry would be making this tournament by itself. Cinderella's are more fun when they are undersized, overlooked small school variety. The Matt Santangello's, the Richie Framm's. Curry is right there with them, appearing like he's ...

Davidson's Stephen Curry Is the Unquestioned Star of the NCAA Tournament

Curry is the man everyone is talking about this morning. The only question that still hasn't been ...

The 10 Best Games of the 2008 NCAA Tournament
Published 4/9/2008 by Norlander at College Hoops Journal
Who said it was a down year? Give me 10 games of the caliber listed below and I’ll be fine if the other 54 are snoozers. I do run a bracket pool every year, and in the final e-mail I compile this list, so I’m quite happy to have another outlet to share my opinion on the matter. Let’s relive the 10 best out of the 64 that were played. I judge the game with complete disregard for when the game took place in The Tournament. I judge it on how into it the teams, crowd, announcing pair, people around me, etc. This is subjective, but I think you’d have a hard time taking any other game and putting ...

What the Heck’s Going On at Georgetown?
Published 5/28/2008 by TheBigLead at The Big Lead
First the collapse against Davidson, and sophomore jumping jack/center Vernon Macklin, pegged as perhaps a starter next year, transfers to Florida. And now, Jeremiah Rivers, another nice role player who could have been a starter this season, is transferring to Indiana. What’s going on with John Thompson’s program? We thought the Hoyas would be a Top 10 team next year, but factor in these two losses, plus the graduation of starters Patrick Ewing, Roy Hibbert and Jon Wallace, and the Hoyas dip from a top three or four NCAA seed to probably seventh or eighth.

A Shady Victory

The only thing you cannot say is that Davidson outplayed Georgetown. What you can say is that the officials - Tom O'Neill, Paul Janssen, Doug Sirmons - of the Georgetown-Davidson game cheated; the game was fixed; the officials are racist; all of the former. Call it what you want but those three officials did not want the Georgetown Hoyas to defeat the Davidson Wildcats.

An Ode to Stephen Curry

Here’s how we watched Davidson Friday and Sunday: Our eyes, at all times, were glued on the wiry, bogglingly prolific shooter with the passionate mom, Stephen Curry. ( Aside: We just scoured the net for photos or video of Sonya Curry, and there’s nothing. Lil’ help? ) Although we grew up rooting for Georgetown - Northern Virginia roots and all - we found great joy in ...

NCAA Bracket Watch: On to the Sweet 16

My bracket is still in decent shape, but took a big hit after Georgetown’s ridiculous loss to the 10-seed, Davidson. This is Stephen Curry’s tournament
I’m not really sure what to say at this point. Even though everybody knew about Davidson and Stephen Curry coming into the tournament, I don’t think anybody outside of the most loyal Davidson fans expected them to run through 3 perennial powers (Gonzaga, Georgetown, and Wisconsin) on their way to the Elite 8. To be honest, Davidson completely dominated the 2nd half against ...

Stephen Curry and Davidson College Stun the Georgetown Hoyas with a Sweet 74-70 Upset
