I have been intently following the Presidential election so I am accustomed to viewing an old cranky senile man ramble on and on, then make piss poor indefensible public decisions. Al Davis reminds me of Gramps McCain with their questionable judgement, out of touch beliefs, and quest and longing for the "glorious days of years past." The Al Davis bizarre firing press conference did not really surprise me and I only fault Lane Kiffin for signing up to have this bitter geezer as his boss. Let us go to the Abe Simpson ...

Bizarre. Al Davis should have been forced out the moment he traded coach Jon Gruden to the Bucs in 2001 after Oakland lost the “Tuck Rule” game to the Patriots in the snow. You know how that worked out - Oakland hasn’t had a winning season since 2002, and newly-promoted o-line coach Tom Cable is the team’s fifth coach since. (Gruden, meanwhile, has been to the playoffs three times in six years in Tampa, and memorably defeated the Raiders in the Super Bowl.)

You've likely seen clips of Al Davis' press conference last night, but it's so bizarre it's worth another look.
Davis, who bears full responsibility for turning the Oakland Raiders organization into a joke, sat up there and claimed he was firing Lane Kiffin for having "disgraced" the franchise. Uh huh.
The only thing that impressed me about this presser was that it showed Davis was still alive, going into tremendous detail -- overhead projector and all (who knew they still had these) -- about all his grievances against Kiffin.
There's no doubt ...

So Al Davis finally cans Lane Kiffin and says it’s for cause so he doesn’t have to pay him. He said that when he told Kiffin he was fired, the first question he asked was “Are you gonna pay me?”. I think it’s a fair question considering what he did to Shanahan.
I think the bigger question is whether or not the Raiders are the worst organization in the NFL.
From 2003-2007 the Raiders were 19-61. Even the Lions were 26-54 in that time span. And their drafts have been pretty awful too.
Davis spoke of his confidence that the Raiders will win. But first they might want to aim for ...
