Call a Doctor! Call the National Guard! Call The Game of Which We Will Not Speak!!!
The Tomb of Doom —
Because Derrick Rose just sank two free throws with a minute and 41 seconds left. Derrick Rose just sank two free throws... at the end of the game... to keep his team in contention... In an NBA preseason game. Nonetheless, Rose's line was really impressive tonight. He finished with 30 points on 13-18 shooting, with 7 assists. His Bulls trailed the Mavericks by 23 points in the fourth quarter, but Rose led his team back to within one point on his late-game free throws. With 41 seconds left, Rose sank a baseline jumper to put the Bulls ahead 103-101 and they carried the lead until the buzzer rang. Granted, Dirk wasn't in the game ...
Derrick Rose... Man Crush.
Sharapova's Thigh —
It appears my Chicago Bulls are in for another average season at best, but at least they have Derrick Rose. The former Memphis point guard was of course the #1 overall pick in the draft this year, and is already looking like the best player on the team. Yes, that speaks volumes about how bad they could be, but impressive for a 19-year-old kid nonetheless. Tonight they were getting their asses handed to them by the Dallas Mavericks in a pre-season contest, and Rose led them back from a 23 point deficit to win. Yeah, Dirk, Terry, Kidd, and Howard were out during most of that time, but it was still incredible what Rose did. He absolutely just took the game over in the 4th ...
Derrick Rose Scores 30 Points vs Mavs, Joins Other Top Rookies With Breakout Game
FanIQ Blog —
Home post here. As of yesterday, every top rookie draft pick has had his "I'm ready" breakout game this preseason except for one.
Eric Gordon dropped 33 last week for the Clippers, Michael Beasley has led the Heat in scoring multiple times, OJ Mayo had his moment last week with 26 points for the Grizzlies (and another 28 last night), and Jerryd Bayless won Summer League MVP honors while also playing very strong throughout the preseason.
The one performance that was missing was from the No. 1 overall pick, Derrick Rose. The Chicago Bulls haven't exactly impressed this preseason, and the former ...
The Mavs Cannot Stop Young Point Guards
Dime Magazine —
The last time the Mavericks were on the floor when games actually counted, Avery Johnson was watching his job slip through the cracks as Chris Paul made Jason Kidd look like he was 45-years old. A couple of months later, Rick Carlisle now has the pleasure of watching the Mavs get diced by a young point guard. This time around it was Derrick Rose , who could very well have the quickest first step since Tim Hardaway . He’s almost too fast for a big man to hedge.
A Coming Out Party For Derrick Rose?
Intentional Foul —
Were Chicago Bulls fans provided a glimpse of things to come from overall number one pick Derrick Rose or was he simply the benefit of fourth quarter play in a meaningless preseason game? Rose put on a show in the fourth quarter against the Mavericks last night, scoring 14 of his (preseason) career-high 30 points, while handing out five of his seven assists.
We, of course, have the highlight reel of Rose’s big night. What it shows is the guard’s creativity with the ball, be it when he’s trying to score or set his teammates up. The video also does a good job in demonstrating just how tough a cover Rose will be on a ...
Derrick Rose Continues to Impress
SLAM Online —
After giving the Mavs 30, more and more people are convinced that Rose should start for Da Bulls.
ROSE BUSTS OUT
Zoner Sports —
Derrick Rose came off the bench last night and went off for 30 points. Check out the video below–he goes to the basket more times in this game then Hinrich or Gordon did all season last year.
Also notable about the Bulls’ preseason is Tyrus Thomas. Thomas is averaging 11.5 & 10, along with 2.5 blks and 1.17 steals in 27 minutes per game. What’s odd is that he is shooting 90% from the free throw line but just 35% from the field. For he Bulls to be formidable Del Negro has to maximize his talent.
DERRICK ROSE - 30 PTS VS THE MAVS - HIGHLIGHTS
Docksquad Sports —
As you all know, I already wrote about yesterday's game, but you have to see the highlights to believe the hype right? So, in case you guys missed the game, check out DRose's highlights below... Thanks Tim for sending this in. ...
Most Likely to Make the All-Star Team as a Rookie: Derrick Rose
FanHouse —
Filed under: Bulls, NBA All-Star GameNBA FanHouse walks through the Valley of the Most Likely; we shall fear no topic. Before getting injured this past week, Derrick Rose was making a name for himself this preseason (Case in point: his 30-point performance against the Mavs this past Tuesday). With his explosive game, he's quickly becoming a fan favorite around the league. When you consider the lack of superstar point guards out East, and the fact that Rose is playing in a big market like Chicago, it's highly likely that he could get voted to the All-Star team as a ...
Things Derrick Rose can do
Lakers Blog —
I've seen about seven seconds of Chicago basketball this season, so my reservoir of pregame thoughts before tonight's tilt is extremely shallow. Not to say there isn't anything interesting to watch for tonight. First, the Bulls have waived someone named Demetris Nichols ...
