Lions display a lack of confidence, creativity

You may remember last year's official NFL slogan, "Who Wants it
More" (and there's no way you're ever forgetting it if you were in the
Phoenix area for the Super Bowl). This
year's official NFL theme is "Believe In Now."
Individual teams have their own slogans for each year, too. They'll use them
to sell season tickets, coaches may use them as rallying points, and you might
see them printed on t-shirt worn under pads.
The slogan the 2008 Lions have chosen: "Do
You Believe in Now?"
That's superb. That ...
The 2008 Detroit Lions Marketing Push : Every Bit As Compelling As A Jesus Jones Comeback

I’m no expert in promotional video production, but the above clip certainly beats Jon Kitna promising the Lions will win 10 games. The Pride Of Detroit’s Sean Yullie takes a somewhat more severe tact, describing the spot as “total garbage”.
After a small highlight package airs with some stereotypical dramatic music and the catcphrase “Do you believe in now?” is put on the screen, Rod Marinelli is shown and talks about how it’s all about right here right now. If the Lions were looking for an honest answer from their fans ...
There's a Reason the Lions Can't Sell Tickets, and This Might Have Something to Do With It

Filed under: Lions, NFC North, NFL FansThere's a reason Lions fans show up to games sporting paper bags over their heads. The obvious answer is Matt Millen, who has become something of the anti-Karl Rove for the greater Detroit sports scene. Rove, whose political "genius" became legendary after George W. Bush was elected to a second term, was soon responsible for everything from setting up Dan Rather, to using Barack Obama to torpedo Hillary Clinton's bid for the Democratic nomination (wait, wasn't that Bill's job?). For the Lions' faithful, every time something goes wrong, the ...
The Lions are asking their fans "Do you believe in now?"

You're kidding, right? Right? You mean latest promo gambit is supposed to be taken seriously? Then the answer is...No. I don't. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me. Burn me for an entire lifetime? Welcome to the world of Lions fandom. You know, I'll make the occasional leap in faith. I'll leap with any team in Detroit when they show me they are capable. But the Lions? Please. I won't leap for the Lions. In fact, I refuse to believe in the Lions. I won't allow myself. I've been burnt one too ...

If you've been reading us for the long haul, you'll probably call into question why there hasn't been mention of the Lions and the upcoming NFL season. Yup, last year we were all just damn giddy and drunker than a poet on payday with expectations for the Lions and a breakthrough season. I had to wipe the drool off my keyboard at work just thinking about the Fantasy implications of Kitna-to-Johnson or Kitna-to-Williams. It all seemed to be good to be true that the Lions would present us with the most exciting offensive team since the 1995 season. ...
