This is dumb.  Pargo was the only one getting open looks.  I'll take that over Peja being blanketed by Bowen any day.  Let's not forget the important shots Pargo hit down the stretch to keep the Hornets actually in the game.

He was the only Hornet to nut up--can't fault him for that.  Byron Scott knew everyone else was too tight; otherwise he would have yanked him.  If Chris Paul had a problem with it, you can be sure he would have heard about it.

Agreed.....Pargo did right to try to take things in his own hands.

David West also should have been more assertive.

The NBA's Final Four
Canis Hoopus — Jannero Pargo crumbles in the clutch against the Spurs. What? No Mike James? If you don't hit shots, you don't win. The Spurs defense last night wasn't that good; New Orleans--especially Peja Stojakovic--tanked terribly last night.  The Hornets had ...

Back To The Future! (For The Spurs) [Nba Closer]
Deadspin — The NBA Closer is written by Matt McHale, who feels like he's watched Spurs-Lakers in the playoffs about a jillion times over the years. Or maybe it's just been Spurs-Whoever. When he's not misremembering his playoff history, he can be found mourning the death of the New Orleans dream at Basketbawful. Enjoy! Sherman, set the WABAC machine to 2004. Forget the plutonium, the Flux Capacitor and the DeLorean. Turns out you don't need 1.21 GIGAWATTS!!! to achieve temporal displacement. Doc Popovich has discovered the real secrets behind time travel, and the San Antonio Spurs were ...

Worst of the Night: May 19, 2008
Basketbawful — The New Orleans bench: Astute readers of this site know that I've had a hairy eyeball on the Hornets' reserves for most of the season, particularly after Jeff Bower "strengthened" the team's bench by trading away Bobby Jackson for Pit Bull and The Bonz. Which, honestly, should have been enough to disqualify Bower from NBA Executive of the Year voting, not a reason for him to finish third. As the risk of going all Basketball 101 here, the lack of solid and reliable bench play will wear a team down over the course of a long season and extended playoff series (for further reading, ...

Did Jannero Pargo blow the game for the Hornets
Hail Mary Jane — It’s cool to be the hero in a game 7 but it’s more important too defer to whoever has the hot hand for the team. During last nights pivotal game 7 between the Hornets and the Spurs, Jannero Pargo tried to come out and be a superstar.  Now all due respect he did finish with 18 points but he went through some rough stretches in this one where he probably should’ve just passed the ball to teammates.  Check it out. The Players I’m Most Disappointed With This NBA Postseason
Tirico Suave — The other night I was watching game seven of the Spurs/Hornets series at my brother’s house. To give you a visual, my brother is tall, skinny and athletic. I, on the other hand, look like as if someone attempted to clone my brother, only the machine broke three quarters of the way through the process and instead of trying to finish the job, they just decided to feed me two all the way from the Hot Grill in Clifton, NJ for the next 20 years. Anyway, we were discussing how disappointing some players have been in the postseason. After rattling off close to 20 names, I decided to come up with a list. Compiling blog lists have supplanted trying to get ...

Jannero Pargo Is a Star, I Tell You! A Star! ... In Russia.
FanHouse — Filed under: Hornets, Western, EuroleagueWe've got a NBA Overseas Defection Watch List Update for you, and we swear, we're running out of them. Former Hornets guard Jannero Pargo is headed to Moscow Dynamo, according to Woj over at Yahoo!. He'll be joining Bostjan Nachbar on the club. Pargo is pretty much the epitome of feast or famine. He shot 39% last year, with a PER of 11.9. He also scored 30 points in a Western Conference playoff game against the Mavericks, and went down with his guns drawn versus the Spurs. Pargo's a competent backup guard that was in ...

theblowtorch.blogspot.com 5/16/2008 — Jannero Pargo enters the game, what follows is his internal monologue: Alright, Jannero. Let's go. Gotta get some looks. Get some shots up. Get in a rhythm. Let's ParGO! One miss, ain't no thang. Just keep gettin' them shots. You can hit 'em. ...

What the hell was Jannero Pargo thinking?
zachls.blogspot.com 5/20/2008 — That's Hornets guard Jannero Pargo, who surely is missing a shot in New Orleans' Game 7 loss to San Antonio. We don't care that Pargo had 16 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter. He had those points because he was chucking up the ball like he was ...
The real reason the Hornets lost Game 7
sports.yahoo.com 5/20/2008 — There are a lot of fingers being pointed, and in many different directions, at who's to blame for the Hornets' Game 7 loss last night. Chris Paul wasn't assertive enough, Jannero Pargo took too many shots, Peja Stojakovic stunk it up, Bonzi Wells was ...
The Last Razorback StandingThe Hog Tale
Well, the man with no conscience, aka Jannero Pargo was the last remaining Razorback in the NBA playoffs until the Hornets couldn't get the job done in game 7 at home against the Spurs. Pargo went 6-16 in game 7 including 13 shots in the fourth quarter for 18 points. Joe Johnson went out in the first round for the Hawks, and Utah's Ronnie Brewer went down in 6 to the Lakers. The Spurs ...
Why Was Jannero Pargo Taking All the Late Shots?Larry Brown Sports
While watching the end of the Hornets/Spurs Game 7, there was one thought that consistently ran through my head: why the hell is Jannero Pargo taking all the shots? With talented players like Chris Paul and David West on the floor, I couldn’t understand why all the outlet passes were going to Pargo, nor why Pargo felt it was necessary to try and take over the game. He’s not their ...
