In the first half of The700Level's double-header at the Wach yesterday, the Flyers and Caps played in the tightest 7-1 game I've ever seen. After one period, the Flyers were up 1-0, but throughout the first, I couldn't help but be amazed by the shot totals. At one point, the Caps led by a count of 20-2, and the period ended 25-6. But... 1-0 Flyers.
Antero Niittymaki stood on his proverbial head, and if he hadn't, that period (and the game) could have easily gone the other way. The Caps played well in the first, peppering Niitty with shots—good shots. From our perch up atop section 202, the Caps looked like they far outplayed the Flyers for the first 20 ...
