If you give even half a crap about basketball, watch this ESPN video right the hell now. Dwight Howard as Superman and Gerald Green's cupcake dunks are the stuff of legends.
I Am Superman

I am I am I am Superman and I know what’s happening.
I am I am I am Superman and I can do anything. (REM)
For those of you who missed the NBA Slam Dunk Contest last night, you missed one of the better ones in a long time. Even Superman made an appearance as Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic donned a Superman cap for a dunk.
Gerald Green from the Minnesota Timberwolves may have been the defending champion but even his “birthday cake” dunk was no match for Superman. Jamario Moon from the Toronto Raptor and former UConn Husky Rudy Gay from the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t stand a chance with those two in the ...

NBA Slam Dunk Contest

I know this is supposed to be a hockey blog, but if you haven't seen the video yet, you HAVE to watch these dunks. This was the best dunk contest since Vince Carter in 1998. "Birthday Cake" and "Superman" are two of the more creative dunks I've ever seen. ...
Dwight Howard Is Not Human

If you didn’t watch the NBA Slam Dunk contest last night, you missed one of the most impressive displays of aerial ability ever seen. What Dwight Howard and to a lesser extent Gerald Green did with a basketball was unbelievable, and left me in awe for most of the night. Here’s a video review of the awesomeness that was All-Star Saturday night. Get your popcorn ready.
NBA Dunk Contest: WOW
Published 2/17/2008 by Jordan Brett at From Courtside
What a Dunk Contest? Creativity, Originality, Competitiveness… It was all on full display last night. A Few Notes: -Dwight Howard redefined what big man should be able to do… He’s 6’10 with athletic ability that is simply off the charts. Howard gave people the “What’s next?” feeling, which hasn’t been felt since 2000, Vince Carter. - Rudy Gay’s second dunk when he caught the lob from behind the basket would’ve actually been cool, had it not been for Dwight Howard’s monster first dunk. Not such a great showing Rudy. - Despite getting so much height on the superman dunk, Dwight Howard ...

Am I being a bad Suns fan if I don't post a recap of the All-Star game, given that two of our guys were in it? Well, tough. I DVR'ed the game and haven't watched it yet, other than bits and pieces in the background. By the time I do get around to watching the whole thing from start to finish, it will probably be old news. Feel free to have a go at it in the diaries if you'd like. In the meantime, here is something that might be more interesting than a glorified exhibition game (yeah, I'm not a big fan of All-Star weekend, although Dwight Howard has won me over on the dunk contest ...
Dwight Howard Wins Dunk Contest
Published 2/18/2008 by Chris at The Hot Route
More fun to come The dunk contest is officially back. Dwight Howard won the contest yesterday by pulling off some of the most creative and thunderous dunks in the history of the contest. When he revealed the Superman shirt and tied on the cape - I lost my mind. It was crazy. Add this to the list of reasons to love Howard. He (along with Gerald Green, whose cupcake dunk was ridiculous as well) has brought back the contest that makes the NBA All Star break/game fun to watch. And for those of you out there that still have some hate for the NBA - time to tune in my friends. The rest of the ...
Off Topic: True Confession, Dwight Howard and the NBA Slam Dunk Contest were Nasty

In case you missed the NBA's SLAM DUNK contest this saturday night, hey, just watch the video below, brought to you by none other than ESPN! The Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard is a man among children in the NBA, eh. I don't think winning the Slam Dunk Contest will help Coach Van Gundy's pleas for Howard to focus more on defense. If you're into the Orlando Magic, be sure to checkout Third Quarter Collapse, our Orlando Magic Blog, Ben does a dang good job over there!! Hat tip to Dave from the Falcoholic for the Video ...
