mcsteevo I swear Dwight Howard and myself are not even the same species. I couldn't pull this stuff off if the rim only came to my nipples.
Big Man Frighten Us.
Hardwood Paroxysm —
Below is a supposedly "leaked" video of Dwight Howard practicing for the dunk contest. SPOILER WARNING: There's only one dunk in it that might be spoiler worthy, but if you don't want to see anything he's working on, don't watch it, and don't read our analysis below. Just go back to the porn. ...

Empty the Bench —
Get those TiVos set. This is going to be one hell of a dunk contest…

NBA Obsessed —
NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.
Thanks goes to Blue Workhorse.com for sending this YouTube on Dwight Howard putting together his Dunk routine for the All Star game.
Dwight talks about being disappointed from not winning it last year.
There is also a bit of Vitamin Water ad going on, but not much.
He wants to win it for the Big Men in Basketball! ...

Abraham Linking:
Stop Mike Lupica —
Some links from around the web: Let's start it off with a "Keith Van Horn as a replacement in the Kidd trade" update - Mavs Central found this Marc Stein ESPN post stating that Keith would have to report to the Nets physically if he did get signed and traded for the purposes of clearing the Devean George hurdle: "But a league source suggested Thursday that Van Horn, if included by the
Mavericks, would have to physically report to New Jersey as opposed to just
collecting new checks in retirement. It was not immediately clear if the Nets
would then be able to waive Van Horn" *********** SI has an article up about how David ...
NBA Dunk Contest Prediction: Who You Got?
FanIQ Blog —
You have to love the four NBA's Dunk Contest participants embracing the Interwebs in this first ever year where fans have final say. The more professional athletes communicate with fans the better ... for the most part. Probably a good thing if Chris Kaman keeps to himself.
All four have posted extensive sneak peaks, practice previews, and one has even asked for our own suggestions. Grading these vids pre-contest, I have to give my vote to Jamario Moon (above). If he can pull off that dunk from beyond the free throw it's his.
Rudy Gay started this all off by asking for fan ...
NBA 2008 All-Star Festivities Predictions (part 1)
NBA Rock —
Gotta love this time of year. Last minute trades abound, the annual All-Star game, and all of the little things in between. Little things like the Playstation Skills Challenge. Last year Dwayne Wade took it home. This year, he’s gonna try to repeat.
2008 Playstation Skills Challenge Participants
Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat
Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets
Jason Kidd of the (maybe not for long!) New Jersey Nets
Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz
Dunno about you folks, but I’m certainly excited to see this year’s skills challenge. ...
The 2008 NBA Dunk Contest Soars
Mind Rite Sports -- Quality, diverse sports coverage —
Last night we saw creativity, showmanship and theatrics to last us for many years to come. When the smoke cleared, the biggest man in the competition, Dwight “Superman” Howard, emerged victorious . Needless to say, the 2008 NBA Slam Dunk competition did not disappoint. The last big man to have the same explosiveness and hops as Howard used to be my personal favorite player in the league, Shawn Kemp , before drugs, alcohol and baby mommas (Kemp allegedly fathered 13 children with 9 different women) took over his life. Those who surveyed the video vault of YouTube.com were able to see most of the dunks Howard used to bring home a win; of course, a ...

I made a joke at the beginning of my previous post about the "marketability" (or lackthereof) of this series to American broadcasters. Last year, the only reason the Raptors made it onto ESPN was the natural Vince storyline... this year, no story as compelling exists... or does it? In Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard, you have ...
OPEN THREAD: Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 - Cavaliers @ Magic
Golden State Of Mind —
I betcha the puppet LeBron can't do this!
The Lakers are heading back to the finals again. This team, who is heading to the franchise's 30th finals appearance, is a bit more rugged and tested compared to last year's team as they have been through some intense series this year - namely the ones against the Rockets and the Nuggets. Fight hard and you will conquer they say...and with that, the Lakers are given an opportunity to win their 15th title. Hooray....
Note the sarcasm.

Q&A on the Cs with Magic Examiner Kenny Samsel
Boston Celtics Examiner —
Kenny Samsel, the Orlando Magic Examiner for Examiner.com, sent me a few questions about the Magic, and wanted my take on the Celtics as well. The Q&A is below, and l ocated here as well , and don t forget to see what Kenny has to say (his page is located here ) about the Magic throughout the rest of training camp, and the regular season as well. I did another Q&A with Kenny a while back, and I will post in the near future. So, it has come to this: after 3 weeks of amazing collaborations with the Mavericks , Spurs , and Lakers , I am sad to announce the final article in my Summer of Collaboration. And really, it s what s best (i.e. no ...
