RedBaron +3Not as awesome as Odom dribbling inbounds, but close.-
Ben Q. Rock That's what I thought, too. Still pretty funny. Very similar to David Wells flipping the ball to the first-base umpire after recording what he thought was the final out of the inning... when it was only the second. Anyone else remember that?

Get Your Head in the Game, Son!

This was kinda lost over the weekend, but thanks to Smack reader Vince for finding it: Eddie Jones either getting a ref confused with a Mavs player, or his mind was WAY off somewhere else. Sure, you could put some blame on Jason Terry for not being there for the inbounds, but Eddie’s gotta pay attention.

Eddie Jones passes to his invisible friend

One of the tougher things about trying to watch significant chunks of every NBA game is the stuff you still end up missing. You take great pains over the course of an entire evening, using two tuners, a DVD burner, even Tivo'ing the game repeats that come on at three in the morning for viewing the next afternoon, and there is still going to be a whole lot of basketball you're not going to see. Plus, if you acquire a whole batch of ultra-tasty chorizo, as I did last Friday, your attention is going to sway a bit. Thankfully, the internets (and, in this case, YouTube, and Matt Watson over at Fanhouse ...
Don't Let Eddie Jones Inbound the Basketball

I've watched this video from last Friday's Mavs-Hornets game half a dozen times, and I'm still completely confused by what Eddie Jones did:
"What was he doing?" [said in octave levels that only Tim Kurkjian could appreciate].
The answer to that question shall remain a mystery. Did he think the ref -- who had just handed him the ball -- was a teammate? Does Jones dabble in clairvoyance and already knew that Dallas was going to win anyways? Does Avery Johnson have a bigger mouth than Shannon Sharp?

Player of the Weak: Eddie Jones
Published 12/19/2007 by Chris at Intentional Foul
There are some NBA players that have the ability to hang-on and stay in the league a little longer than you would expect, much like Eddie Jones. In his prime, Jones was an effective swing man who averaged double digits in scoring. In fact, from 1998 until 2003, his scoring average was a healthy 18.1 points a game. Now that he’s on the down-swing of his NBA career, Jones finds himself with the Dallas Mavericks, providing Avery Johnson’s bench an experienced veteran who can help younger players transition to the NBA way of doing things.
Just as long as they don’t follow the example he sets in the upcoming video.

Eddie Jones' Tremendous Court Vision; Chicago Bulls Actively Seeking Trade
Published 12/19/2007 at FanIQ Blog
This Eddie Jones pass to ... well, we're still trying to figure that out, happened last Friday night but is just now making the blogging rounds.
Scott Skiles who once dished out 35 assists is clearly impressed as most of his Bulls errant passes tend to take out fans. At least Jones had the wherewithal to keep it in bounds setting up and easy two.

First, let's start with the non-Knicks links: Via Dime Magazine, here's some great footage of Eddie Jones inbounding the ball to... no one? ********* Here's a story about Female Russian tennis star who was tied up while her house was robbed (via The Big Lead, of course). I wonder if anyone is going to write an article about how she must be tied to the Russian mob lifestyle, right? You know, because anytime something bad happens to a black athlete, it's because he's tied to that "thug" lifestyle, right? Note: I just checked out D-Wil's site, and saw that ...

Not quite sure who Eddie Jones was passing to in this one. He inbounded the Ball but there was no one there…. Uh Eddie do you need glasses or something? Maybe he should get some of the big James Worthy goggles or something. Check out the video:

Eddie Jones is still playing in the NBA?
Published 12/21/2007 by 100% Injury Rate at 100% Injury Rate
This video has already made it around the interwebs a bit, but it's the Friday before Christmas and I don't feel like writing much. And odds are you're either half-drunk as you read this or you're already out of the office and aren't reading it anyway. Anyway, this video is proof that Eddie Jones is still playing in the NBA, which was a total shock to me. It's from last Friday's game against the Hornets. Eddie is his usual savvy veteran self. -WCK

The Miami Heat: After the Heat's 96-85 loss to the 76ers, Dwyane Wade said: ""It's tough to lose, but it's tougher to be the worst team in the Eastern Conference. You don't know what you're going to see from one night to the next." That statement was so stunning that I actually had to go and double-check the standings, and it's true: Miami (8-21) has the worst record in the Eastern Conference, and second worst (to Minnesota) in the league. They were the 2006 NBA champions, and now they're en route to a possible top three pick in the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery. I cannot believe that a team with ...
