ELTON BRAND PULLS A BOOZER
Docksquad Sports —
I guess you can take my Elton Brand is staying put post from last week, and throw it right in the trash. Elton Brand basically took the money and ran today, essentially pulling a Boozer and abandoning Clipper Nation!!! Now everyone has their own reason for doing things, and I am sure Brand has his for this move, but one thing is for certain, it looks this move will definitely taint his image for a long time. What's emerging from the press corps are wildly different scenarios as to what transpired in the negotiations between the Clippers and Elton Brand. Mark Heisler's headline reads, "Donald Sterling can't be blamed for Elton Brand's departure." Heisler maintains, "Whether that was Falk's influence or that Brand was impressed by the 76ers, he now seemed to be looking for a way to leave rather than a way to stay. From there, Brand opted out, giving statements that he was intending to return and everyone from fans to Davis to the Clips seemingly under the impression that a powerhouse movie producing hoops duo was about to bust loose in L.A. Then came the last three days. ...
