Liability, schmiability: I say that if a sudsed-up Elvis impersonator wants to entertain the crowd during a lengthy rain delay by sliding on the tarp, you should let him, insurance concerns be damned. (By the way, it was '70s Night at Wrigley Field, though I suppose it's possible this man had no idea and just likes showing up to Cubs games dressed as Elvis. Who could blame him?)
Now if the tornado sirens start blaring, as heard in the crazy footage below, that's probably a different story and Elvis needs to evacuate his person along with everyone ...

Luckily I'm in Michigan this week and avoided the monsoon that swept through my neighborhood last night and rendered Wrigley Field the area's largest pool. What I did miss, however, some quality rain delay entertainment.
I understand that stadiums can't allow fans to run onto the field during game action. It's clearly a distraction and a danger to the players. But if there's a rain delay, and the world's greatest slip n' slide presents itself, streaking the field should become necessary rain delay entertainment.

The Cubs and the Astros ran into a bit of a squall last night that ended their game an inning prematurely. Being that it was '70s night in Wrigley, that's an inning less of YMCA costumes and people in Rick Monday jerseys. But it did make for good fun during the various rain delays and tornado warnings, as a guy in an Elvis costume took an impressive glide across the tarp. Though I gotta say '70s Elvis probably wasn't that nimble on his feet. Not his fault, really.
