VIDEO: England shames U.S.
The Beautiful Game — I figured it'd be bad. Not that bad. The pathetic U.S. side was outclassed in every way. I would've bet my entire life-savings that the U.S. wouldn't score after seeing that nonsense lineup. Eddie Johnson I can barely forgive. Josh Wolff I can't. Why play any forwards at all? Oh and that set-up to the Gerrard goal -- the U.S. won't be at that level ever in my lifetime. And congrats to Beckham to getting his 100th cap. And adding an assist to boot. His service is still incredible. But yeah, not a good day for the USMNT. Hopefully, Spain and ...

Football videos: England 2-0 USA
Who ate all the Pies — Football videos: England 2-0 USA The best bits (i.e. the goals) from England's win against the lame Yanks Gerrard's goal was by far the best thing about the game: lovely pass by Barry, lovely finish by Stevie G. Bonus vid of France's defeat of Ecuador after the break. Well worth watching to see the first of Bafetimbi Gomis's two goals. Gomis, who made the final France squad at the expense of Djibirl Cisse, will be one to watch. He looks a handful.

US Continues Futility Against England
Intentional Foul — Our friends across the pond are framing this particular — and typical — beatdown of US Soccer as redemption for John Terry, who, when we last saw him, was missing a penalty that had much more on the line than yesterday’s friendly between the US and England. I’m not sure if that’s really accurate. When England beats the United States in soccer/futbol/football/footie, it lets us know things are normal in the cosmos. However, if the US were to win — something they haven’t done since 1993 — it might be a sign of the coming apocalypse. However, evacuation is not necessary as England did ...

Team US gets rogered in the rear by England
Unprofessional Foul — Alright folks, open thread time. Ian hinted at it in a comments section, so consider this the pro-active next step! The game last night was like a David Mamet film: flashes of brilliance amid a sea of boredom. Capello confounded the world by picking the same old England team. My email to someone this morning: Capello was supposed to be the wind of change, but instead, he's just blowing David Beckham. The idea of putting a relatively unchanged side out, with 18 kiddies on the bench who saw maybe 90 minutes between the lot of them, was ridiculous, but at least we won! Capello will have learned little from the squad's performance, aside from a few ...

England 2, USA 0: A look back
soccerbyives.net 5/29/2008 — It was ugly. There is really no other way to describe the U.S. team's 2-0 loss to England. The Americans were thoroughly dominated and had few players really step up to the challenge presented by the star-studded English lineup.  ...

John Terry may get some measure of comfort from this goal he scored for England in their 2 - 0 friendly victory over USA .The other goal came from Steven Gerrard( video ) The US team did not really put their hearts into things and the game has been variously described by the pundits as being a pointless, leaden footed excercise in futility. The fans at Wembley kept themselves entertained by ...
Is Chelsea skipper really happy now he scored for England?CaughtOffside.com
Surely no one in their right mind thinks that John Terry’s goal for England against the US makes up for his penalty pratfall against Man Utd in the Champions League final?? U.S. Loses To England & More100 Percent Soccer
It looks like the U.S. misses Landon Donovan as much as the Galaxy. Without Donovan (tight groin) the U.S. fell 2-0 to England today in London. Chivas USA goalkeeper Brad Guzan made a second half appearance for the U.S. to earn his sixth cap, but a disappointing U.S. team failed to show much. David Beckham had an influential 45 minutes, however, creating England's first goal from a free ...
England 2-0 USA - match reportSoccerlens.com
For England , having failed to qualify for Euro 2008 , this game was always likely to be a fairly meaningless affair. For the first half hour of the game it is difficult to remember a single incident of any real note. David Beckham delivered a pin point pass from a free kick to Steve Gerrard who duly slotted the ball home, but the kick had been taken before the fussy Greek referee was ...
Capello’s England Continue to Stutter in Unconvincing USA WinEPL Talk
England 2-0 USA Wembley way mourned the loss of its soul last night as the fans filling its three-quarter full stadia could only muster up a mediocre atmosphere to compliment England’s dull 2-0 triumph over a woeful USA side. England 2-0 USA: The Big Fat LetdownFanHouse
Well, that could have been better. David Beckham's free kick led to a John Terry header in the 38th minute, while Gareth Barry's through ball in the 59th minute -- Barry's first touch of the game after coming on for Frank Lampard -- led to an easy Steven Gerrard goal as England pretty much owned USA, winning 2-0 in Wembley Stadium. Bob Bradley's side was thoroughly dominated in this one. ...
At the Half: USA 0 - 1 EnglandAn American's view on Futbol/Football/Soccer
I have seen worst things. I have seen better things. Mostly what I have noticed is that the USA is slower off the ball than the England players are. The USA is also giving away too many free kicks, and the bulk of them are being gifted by the defenders. England already burned the USA with one of those freekicks, and had too others that should have been in the goal as well. If the defenders ...

England vs USA - Live!Twohundredpercent
Ah, international friendlies. I'm not altogether certain what the point of this evening's match actually is. A week after Manchester United and Chelsea slugged out their Battle Royale in Moscow, England have to drag their sorry backsides out onto the (doubtlessly sodden) pitch at Wembley for a match against the USA. Of course, when the USA have beaten England before, it has been treated as a ...
