Video: Knowshon Moreno Hit by Tennessee’s Eric Berry, Ouch
Larry Brown Sports —
Just as I went berserk over Knowshon Moreno’s amazing touchdown runs and hurdles over defenders, I feel like I must also pass along the times when he gets crushed by a defender. I was watching live when this hit happened and thought it sounded just as bad as it looked. Turn up the volume for this crack laid on Moreno by Tennessee’s Eric Berry. You might want to skip ahead to the :35 second mark.
What’s shocking is how good Georgia’s running game was even when Moreno was knocked out of the game. Caleb ...
The Only Positive From Tennessee Getting Killed
Sports Blog - football, basketball, and baseball —
Was this hit on Knowshon, also getting killed. The Vols’ season is over, but at least we’ve got Eric Berry for another year (my guess is he’s jumping ship after his junior season; no reason to hang around a team that’s going to win 6 games a year when you can make millions in the NFL and be the first defense player chosen).
THE WEEKEND IN STOLEN VIDEO
EDSBS —
We’re typing this on our brother-in-law’s couch in Gainesville, hoarse, dirty, and gnawing our way through the last dregs of 134.6 grams of sunflower seeds consumed over the course of the weekend. In other words: completely and totally and blissfully happy to be so. Hurry’s the word, though, since we have to get back to Atlanta to tend our prize Hound of the Baskervilles and get Leron his “produce” on time.
The best moments of stolen video follow. Enjoy.
Why do people who are fast with video upload and capture have shitty taste in music? Are these genes linked? Is this a topic worthy of study–HOLY SHIT ...
The Alphabetical: College Football, Week 7
The Sporting Blog —
Each Sunday during college football season, Spencer Hall offers a letter-by-letter analysis of Saturday’s college football games.
A is for Alabama. Teams at the top of the polls continue to rise and fall like so many lottery balls in a tumbler: Missouri and Oklahoma both fall this week, leaving voters with Penn State, Texas, and Alabama as the serious BCS conference choices for the No. 1 slot. Voters, being the nitpicky perfectionists that they are, likely will put Alabama first because the Tide made no mistakes this week in a flawless performance against the bye. Voters reward perfection, and Alabama had plenty of it ...

Darry Beckwith would like a word with CBS regarding Knowshon Moreno's speed
Dr. Saturday —
Not sure what metric Verne Lundquist is using to suggest Knowshon's ES-EEE-SEEE Speeeeeed isn't quite up to par on an icing, 60-plus-yard touchdown romp against one of the most revered defenses in the country (up till Saturday, anyway), but if Moreno's speed isn't great, he can always fall back on his sense of irony: ...
College Football Recap: Saturday's Top 10 Results
FanIQ Blog —
Seriously, did some of the Top 10 coaches text each other before Saturday's game with a "how much can you score" challenge?
The scoreboards got a workout yesterday and here's some thoughts on the 10 most important results:
#7 Georgia 52, #13 LSU 38 Remember when the Tigers had a vaunted defense? I think it was just last year. This year LSU has allowed 52 points in two of the last three weeks. One more who will not be having a great day is Les Miles. Credit Knowshon Moreno for 163 tough yards and reminding everyone he's still one, if not the top back ...
Q and A with Rocky Top Talk
Mountain West Connection —
Here is an interview with Tennessee Football Blogger Rocky Top Talk go check out their site for more Vols football and they should be posting a set of questions I answered shortly. [image] 1. How will this team react to the news that Phillip Fulmer is no longer their coach? Will the team step to try to get wins, and any word on who is on the Vols short list? This football team absolutely loves Fulmer. When the announcement was made, the players attended to hear Fulmer and then walked out when the athletic director (Mike Hamilton) was preparing to speak. One player even shouted out that “he ain’t got nothing to say to us”. Perhaps Fulmer’s greatest credit is ...
Live from New York, it's alternate Heisman reality
Dr. Saturday —
The Doc definitely does not have a vote for tonight's ceremony in Manhattan, and frankly wouldn't cross the street to cast a lot in this race. If someone from the Downtown Athletic Club flew to my house and put a ballot in front of my face and a pen in my hand, though, and threw in some some strawberry blintzes, I might fill it out with the following names: ...

Ten College Football Players I Can’t Wait To See
Rumors and Rants —
The college football season is fast approaching. And for me that means just one thing. Scouting for next year’s NFL Draft. I mean, my alma mater (Indiana) blows and the sport is illegitimate anyways - at least it will remain that way until a playoff system is adopted.
So, I basically just look to be impressed. And I put together one of now-standard top ten lists of the Ten College Football Players I Can’t Wait To See:
10. LB Rennie Curran, Georgia (Jr.) - After starting five games as a true freshman, Curran started all 13 games last season for the Bulldogs and led the team in ...
